remove belt, from tensioner, let it hang, undo the bolt, pull off tensioner, put new tensioner on, tighten bolt down put belt back on, drink a beer and bask in the glory of your work

the tensioner has an alignment tab so it puts it where it needs to be.

sounds easy enough, so just loosen tensioner, remove mounting bolts, remove tensioner, install new one?

how many bolts holds that sucker on?

I dont remember the year but a few had 3 bolts. You will either have like a 10mm in the center of the housing or 3 small bolts on the edges, thats it.

Just don/t incredible Hulk it like I did. I was careless and tired, not thinking, I way over-tightened the new tensioner and the bolt snapped half way hanging out of the engine block. Doug (86er) and Tony (AZSonicSnake) came to my pitiful rescue. We live and we learn, adn in my case, I learned that using a torque wrench is always key.

You can do this in the autozone/whatever parking lot. Only need a socket set and driver.
Slip off belt remove the "one bolt" reverse order done.
