Ftw!! Here comes a build!!
Well i was having some problems with my car leaking coolant so i found out from were. Even though it was just a little but it was leaving a little puddle in my drive way, anyways when i was putting coolant in and i saw that it bubbled. i took out my #1 spark plug and it was completely wet, im gna do a compression test just to be sure it is a ring and not a valve problem the car was sluggish and was pissing me off. it wouldnt turn on the first time i would try it but i was throwing no codes and never had time to check it out till now. so what yall think? go .020 over, forged h-beam rods , dished pistons (ready for boost), cobra crank , and work on the heads?? let me know what you guys opinion is gta do this soon it is my DD but have a MAZDA MIATA for back up?

I mean if something is really messed up it'll be cool to tackle now before you have even bigger problems, build sounds good, looking forward to some pics. Are you doing the work?

Reuse the stock block and crank. Put some forged rods and pistons in it. MHS heads and cams. Reuse the stock PI intake. Have some affordable fun.

Plug was wet with what? Oil or coolant? Sounds more like a head gasket issue than a ring issue to me. Ring issue there would be oil on the plug, excessive blow by, possibly of fouled plug(s), etc. Losing coolant, bubbling in reservoir, and wet plug, as well as an external leak as it can be possible sounds like a head gasket problem. Then again this may not be the issue, just figured id throw it out there before you jump on the rebuild bandwagon before checking all your basis. |

Oil looks new but then again I just changed it bout 700 miles ago and I ran a compression test today and compression was good
kinda wanted to have a reason to do it and the leak on is coming out of the front left (passenger) side manifold gasket wetting my #1 spark plug? And I have to get a video of my start up as I mentioned it pops real Loud kinda sound like I do have a valve problem . It seems like when I want it to do it, it won't and when I don't it does I'll try and record on my phone everytime I start up.. But yea I know what y'all mean

My guess is water is getting by a cracked cross-over. Not sure if this has been asked yet or not, but are you getting a sweet smell?

Coolant getting into the plug port is prolly causing issues with your plug & coil which is making it not fire, miss fire, or similar, and as a result you get that sound. That would be my logical guess based on whats going on. Surprised you have fried the coil yet if your plug port is gettin filled up with coolant.
