It's Seized motor week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WOOT!!!!

well was on I-4 doing about 80 when i felt motor vibration, exited shortly after watching my gauges and listening carefully to weird engine noises, then i notice my oil pressure drop suddenly with more motor shake, i push the clutch down and sway to the right to pull over quick as possible but before i make it the car stalls and turns off, try to start and the starter clicks with little oil pressure(note not none but very low).. as i wait for the tow truck i pull out TWO spark plugs and with a half inch ratchet (only tools int he truck) i try to turn the motor wouldn't budge. never really tried again but i was thinking maybe i needed more leverage since i didnt have a breaker bar and/or all the spark plugs out started looking for a 5.4. Is there a possibility it could be something else? sucks right now cause i cant find any 4.6 motors[complete] in the central Florida area.

Don't get your hopes up on a cammed 2v 5.4 making 360 to the wheels, at least not without a lot of money dumped into it. it would probably be much easier for you to swap in a 4v motor, look for one from an aviator.

R3dn3ck the starter of the 300+ plage 5.4 swap thread on mustang boards who is also on here got 330 to the wheels with off the shelf Comp 278s and the HPS intake

Ported Heads and A cam ground specific for the 5.4 and a little port of the HPS intake which HPS offers will get you there.

it sounds to me people are having their oil pumps crap out. if the first thing you saw was your oil pressure drop and then it died. the reason your motor died is your followers ran out of pressure and your valves stopped opening. the short period the motor had no oil made the motor freeze it sucks man sorry to hear it. i have a mmr oil pump and its just a modified cobra pump, cryo treated, teflon coated, and the cobra pump gears are 1 or 2mm thicker

modular mustangs have always been bad about the gears breaking. the number 1 cause of pump fail is running a piggy back underdrive pulley/incorrectly seating the underdrive pulley puts harmonics on the pump and will vibrate the gears causing them to chip and fail. second reason is detonation, the shock to the shaft causes vibrations and jurking on the gears due to the speed changes of the crank. another reason is swaping out flywheels and not getting it balanced. some fail due to the sump sucking shit up

Intersting..I have steeda under drives, but the previous owner put them on. Is it something I should look into? Making sure they're done right so that it doesnt happen again? Sorry to thread jack

the only problem with some peoples install on a good sfi approved crank pulley is people dont seat them down all the way. i boil my pulley to expand it. on a cold motor the pulley slips on easy. there is also a right way to install the big washer and that is the flat side to the pulley. after im done i stick my finger in the crank shaft position sensor hole to make sure there is no play left in the trigger wheel. the nut has to be torqued down to about 90 lbs and i put lock tight on the nut so it does not back out.
