Couple questions about my order from MGW..
Ok, so I ordered an MGW short shifter, and rally sports knob. I received both pretty quickly which I was happy about. Regardless, I have a few questions.
1: How do I get my shift knob to get tight at the right spot? It just twists on when it starts getting tight it's at the wrong position. 2: This might pertain to the previous question, but I did order the jam nut. Infact, I ordered the deluxe one, but I think I got the regular one because it doesn't look like the one they advertise, and it came with a small black washer. Is this used to make the shift knob tight at the place you want, and also do you think I received the standard one rather then deluxe? 3: The shifter is almost IMPOSSIBLE to make move left and right, it only goes up and down, as if going into 1st and 2nd. Does this change when it's installed? And did anyone else have this problem? I think this is all for now.

For the shift knob just put some muscle on it. Either youve gone to far, or didnt go far enough basically. Thats how my stock shift knob is.
Itll change when you acually install it on the car.

install jam nut then washer then shift knob, I'm guessing the the knob has metallic threading and the reason for the jam nut is to allow you to position the knob so the graphic is facing the correct way. Because not all thread is started at the same position so if you bottom out the knob on the shifter the graphic on top like the shift pattern will most likely not be in the correct orientation.
The factory knobs have plastic threading which allows you to tighten down with out a jam nut. I was looking at their shift knobs and they seem like top notch quality, I am on my 3rd stack racing knob from americanmuscle and its just junk. Is it just me or are alot of americanmuscles newer products not up to par, mainly the stack racing products.
