RUNNING RICH

OK, i just put some mods on my 2002 gt, intake, intake manifold, heads, cams, exhaust, no cats my check engine light has been on since the exhaust but i just recently put MIL eliminators and it continues to stay on, not to mention the car now does not have a tune and from start all the way to 4k rpm it has no power and it backfires from the right side ON ACCELERATION but only once in awhile, it is getting horrible gas milage it still has the Stock MAF, and stock fuel injectors, i cannot get it tuned until next month, i have no clue what is wrong some one please give some input, i will answer any other questions about the car, i just need some input becaue this is pissin me off! all information would be greatly appreciated, it is going in friday to get 3:73 and new differential and new axles

i wouldnt be running that thing without a tune expecially with new heads and cams.. all your sh* needs to be adjusted.. Air/fuel, timming.. ect. Personally i wouldnt be driving it at all tell i got the tune

BTW- your check engine light is on because your car has a problem that will cause damage or to much emmisions.. make sure if that thing starts flash you pull over IMEDIATLY cause seriouse damage can happen.

well its not flashing and it hasn't yet and i also have only driven it like 3 times and only if i had to i tried to order a handheld from american musle but they wouldn't send one to me because they said there are too many mods on the car for them to mail order tune it and i have to wait awhile for the shop to be free to dyno it,

You are fucking up if you continue to drive that car on the stock tune. You WILL destroy your cylinder walls and rings if you continuously dump excess fuel into the motor. Do yourself a favor and get e tune or stop driving the car until you can afford it.

ok, all serious now, dont drive that car until you get a tune, your destroying your motor, might already have permanent damage. hope you can find shop near you, if not tow it. you have a to get a tune after a major mod like cams or heads.

I guess you should have named the thread running poor. j/k
No when you do big mods like that you have to plan and budget for everything you need to make it run right. Little mods you can do and not worry about it. Once you do the type of mods you did things get expensive. Plan your build, which includes a tune.

well dont drive it until you can get it tuned. next time you do a major mod like that, have the appointment already made. makes it much easier good luck with your motor
