CC pistons

ok, What pistons should i get if i want to run about 15 psi from a blower. im looking at the 17cc forged kit on VT. Im building another motor for my mustang on paper to see how much i need to save. still trying to go to korea and save some money. ive given up on the nitrous set up and decided to go blown procharger the dcs-1 and roush stage 3 clone. so which pistons do i need to get.

then i would get a alum. block. preferably one out of a '01 cobra and a tubular K-member. that should free up about a 100lbs or more off the car.
You can put any 4.6L heads you want on there 4v or 2v depending on your preference. FoxLake makes really good heads but their turnover is really slow, but they do make some badass heads.

what kind of money are you wanting to spend?

right not if i save right while im over there i can get around 12,000 saved up. i know thats not enough but it should be a good start. my plan is the get the bolt ons and such and then start building a motor in my garage. ill do most of the maintence myself. ive been building old chevy motors since before i can remember this is the first time ive ever messed with a ford let alone a Fuel Injected motor. but i can put 4v heads on a motor and that will make a 4v right. ive read on here that the bolt pattern on the heads is different so i need to get a 4v block? right?

You will need to drill some different holes on the aluminum block that is a 2V to make it a 4V and I think it would be much easier and cheaper to get an aluminum block that is 4V! VT makes a nice stroker kit as does livernois!

LOL!! no you won't dude. hahah

i've got a 01 cobra aluminum block and a cobra crank with 2v FoxLake Stage 2 heads on it. that's what modular means,it means they're interchangeable.

i think a built 2v 4.6 would probably run you about $6000 if you do the work yourself. that leaves another 6 grand for a poweradder. if you have 12k to spend you could probably wind up with a TT on a built motor puttin down around 625rwhp for maybe little more than $13,000 and probably in the mid to high 10's

but you also gotta factor in cost of upgrading the driveline and brake system. and possibly a cage.

what state do you live in?

Waveby! arent there certain holes different on a 2V block than a 4V block because of the different timing chain covers and set ups like that! I could be wrong and if I am please explain as I would like to learn!

my advise, a good forged kit from a reputable company, vt stg. 2 heads, custom grind cams, aftermarket intake manifold of your choice, procharger (personal opinion), upgraded fuel rails, and a return style fuel system. maybe an intercooler spray set up, or a 50 shot for a little more umph. clutch and trans upgrade a must, i posted pics of my trans on here showing what happened on my car with what i have. a 31 spline rear end set up will be needed as well. if you plan on going to the track, you will have to get neseccary safety equipment to run. once you start getting all that power, you will still have a lot left to do.

Ill build the rear-end first with 31-spline t-loc and 3.73 gears since itll be SC. Im going to build off of a procharger D-1 with fox lake stage 2 heads and vt stage 3 blower cams. P-51 intake and BBK Long Tubes and Mid Pipe and bassani cat-back. Thats basically what i got but now im stuck on what rotating assembly to use. i looked on VT but all them have different cc pistons. now when i used to build chevy motors they tell you the compression ratio for the pisons. im wanting about 9:1 compression. ill be running around 16 psi. also im looking at the k member from AJE. but i cant find which one to get and other than the k member what do i need to get for the front end like a arms and such.

you can build your 2v for around 3k-4k, 6k with new heads.... get a stroker kit with 18cc dished pistons, bored .020 over.... that will make for a torquey motor that can take what ever power adder and pump gas you can throw at it.

i figured up about 8000 for all that i want. motor wise. altogether the cost is going to be about 15000 for all that i want including suspension and rear-end. i can do everything but the rear-end and the tuning.

Correct, but they are talking about an aluminum 4V block that already has everything that is needed. If you bolt on 2V heads, you just want use a couple of the threaded holes.
