well my ceramic flowtechs showed up....and

I am not to happy with them. i had to clean up a few of the ports on the flange with a dremel, and on the last port of the driver side header the flange seems to be uneven where its suppossed to sit flush with the head.

i took a few pictures to show what i am talking about.

you can see where on talking about on the far right

yea it upsets me because it seems that there have been a few people on here that have and like these headers compared to the mac, and have also said that fitment is good and that they dont leak...these look they will leak very easily, i hope that those that have these headers got a better set than me.

That does look really awful. I ordered Pacesetter long tubes and they don't look like that.

Wow, you'd think if anyone would mess up on a header, it'd be for some shitting 4 banger, not Mustang headers. The welds on that look like total ass

I know these are even close to what you have, but i couldnt have been happier with my header, and you'd think more companies would take more pride in their work like the do over at Weapon-R

I know a lot of people on here have had good experiences with those, and say they're just like the Hooker headers, but I can tell you as someone who owns a set of Hookers, that they look nothing like that and are well worth the extra $400 after looking at those.

Thanks for the pics, and sorry for your luck, I'd send those back.

Send them back. thats not right. I wouldn't tell them you tried to fix it either. I'm sure you voided the return policy by doing that.

Mine leak FYI @ the slipfit.

here is a picture of mine. Welds are not the cleanest just like F8TL said compared to Hookers but they get the job done. I do not have any pictures of the ports but they were fine.

my welds do look cleaner than yours though near flange

Closer view? click the yellow triangle above the picture

i am sending them back . dropping them off a ups today...how bad was the leak at the slip fit.? are you going to try and fix them, maybe use some copper rtv?..also i called summit and explained the problem to one of the customer service techs. he said sir you do know that these are cheaper headers right...but after i expalined to him how it looks like they wont even sit flush with the head, especially due to the last port on the driver side header he said he would exchange them for me..so i am praying and hoping the next set look somewhat decent or at least better than what i received..also i did not mention how i did them a favor and cleaned up a few of the ports with a dremel...

yeah there is copper RTV inside the slipfit piping. I am going to put some more on the outside rim where the 2 pipes slip/fit together. Hopefully they quiets it. It is not super bad but it is annoying mostly when all the windows are up. when the windows are down it's not that big of a deal and I can only hear it in 1st gear when I'm going really slow and giving it gas and letting the clutch out.

Did you buy their X pipe too?

ok.. well.. I am very curious to see how your install goes. Mine went horribly and my Terminator X pipe is pretty much custom now. They had to extend the piping by quite a bit because the X pipe didn't reach to the headers. installer told me header fit was horrible too. So I just do not know if I got a bad set or what. But keep me posted on how everything goes. I am really curious to see how yours goes. on a side note I'm sure if I had a aftermartket K member the headers would fit perfectly. it is a very tight fit up there.

They do clear the trans great though!

This is one of the exact reasons that I went with SLP when I bought my longtubes. Sure...they're a little spendy, but the quality was amazing and fitment was better than stock. Sometimes you get what you pay for.

I personally don't feel 500.00 for a header is cheap and do not regret buying them. BBK's are 550, Mac's are what 400?. For me, I am ditching this POS 3650 as soon as the funds are available so buying a header that doesn't clear the trans was out of the question for me which left me with only 4 manufactures who clear the trans which I believe are american racing, flowtech, hooker. SLP maybe? And I really don't see the point on spending 1000.00 on headers to see a small power gain.

40th I hear ya, and I don't blame you. the head aches I had with these and the installer had with them almost wasn't worth it to me. in the end he got them to fit so I was happy, but sounds like Flowtech might need to spend some more time in R&D or something. But I'm sure you have talked to F8TL who has had no problems with his headers so I guess some get lucky and other don't.
