Borla Exhaust Install. Left (done). Right(need help)

So check this out... I started to install my Borla Exhaust system today. I was able to install the left one in about 3 hours (its hard doing this without being able to lift your car that high; cutting with a small jacksaw and trrying to get the right angles). Greate so left one is done.

I was able to cut off the right side much easier this time (it was a breeze after figuring out where the right spot to cut was lol). Heres the hard part. I cant get the new exhaust over the right axle. There is a little "nipple?" on the top of it which is making it impossible for me to do. I included pics(from google) to show what i mean. (A) is left, (B) is right...

Any pionters on how to get this done would be greatly appreciated. I'm skipping work tomorrow since i cant get there with my car like this.

Maybe any pointers on how to lift my car higher safely? I started with 2 jacks in the back, but my car swayed and i almost pinned myself between my car, and another (Good lesson to learn). So i was only lifting one side at a time. Maybe i just dont have the right equipment huh?

Anyway, any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.

JACKSTANDS!!! Dont EVER go under your car with it only on jacks!!!! yea, it might be just for a second, bt its not worth the risk. I have seen jacks fail and missed getting killed myself once when my car fell just as I got out from under it. jackstands arent that expensive, and are a MUST when working under the car.

as to your nipple issue... have you tried rubbing it to make it stand up? oh wait, wrong conversation...

seriously, if it is just the nipple holding up your install, have you looked into just taking it off temporarily? should just spin off with a smallish wrench. then put it back on once you get the exhaust on.

Seconding, get yourself some jackstands! Do NOT go under there with just a jack holding it up.

Question for you, where were you putting the jacks? Hopefully not under the axle itself. Once you have the jackstands, jack the car way up and then put the stands under the subframe near where the control arms attach to the body of the car. That way when you let the jacks back down the axle will droop and will give you more clearance.

+1. if you drop the axle you should be able to get it over no problem. ive always done my exhaust installs this way. and yes you MUST get jack stands dude. so dangerous to not have them. im always skeptical to work under my car even with jack stands lol

Jack it up from the rear subframe or something metal. Let your axle drop down. Much easier.

I had that problem with my Magnaflows, while the car is on jackstands/ramps, I jacked up right behind the gastank and rear bumper. Took a piece of wood, jacked it up there to lift the car alittle and I got that piece over the axle. Hope that helps man

I did my Borla exhaust on a drive-on lift, with weight on the suspension, started from the back forward, and it slid right in, no problems.

Just did my Borla exhaust. Need a set of jack stands for sure. Lift the car by the axel, set the jack stands under the subframe, then let the jack back down, thus letting the axel down, then slide the axle part in from an angle and massage it into place. Trust me, it will go. then just connect all the band clamps and you are done.

Enjoy the best EXHAUST for these cars.... IMHO
