i think i found my next setup, talked to this guy a couple of weeks ago, he works at adams automotive in pensicola and this single turbo 5.4 dohc is sick. he offered to sell it to me for 12k but i would rather build it. its got navi heads, ford gt cams, navi crank, mahnly rods/pistons. big return fuel setup, and a big 80 trim turbo. trans is a lintech 4r70w with trans brake/manula valve body, not sure about the converter. car sill has sock rear end including suspention which he says he will do later.

Holy shit that thing is a fucking beast. Thing just stands up on the dyno. Sounds nasty too. He offered to sell you it for $12k? Damn you should just buy it anyways. Thats a great price.

problem i have with buying built cars is figuring out what the hell the original owner has done. any changes can be a head ach and figuring out wiring is the biggest pain. i would rather start with a fresh canvis and work my way so i know everything going on. trust me, god help the guy who every buys my car.

that car was a turd.... its a dyno queen.. and he has been through like 12 motors in it.... it used to be a s-trim car with 2 stages of 150s and was getting raped by h/c/i nitrous camaros... as a matter of fact, there is a video floating around of him getting walked on by a cam only z28.

funny you say that i was trying to be nice about it cause it is a nice setup but the guy who tunes the car is brad at xxx motorsports, he has tuned my car for a while now and i have about 6 dyno sessions at his shop and he said no comment about the car with a sigh.

yup, the guy that owned the car's name is harley. and i believe the car is sold... i have called him out to race a few times and he never wanted to step up, even when i had my last car and he was on the s-trim setup.. he never wants to listen to anyone and does stuff half way... yes, it made lots of power, but he is getting raped by high 10 second cars... and there is no telling how long the setup will hold together... you dont need a 5.4 4v to make that kind of power.. a local guy has a 5.0 stroked 99 cobra with stock heads/cams/and intake with a twin 50 setup and made like 802rwhp.

Im glad to hear someone on this site from around my area. i dont go out much and i dont street race but like i stated before i did not want to get into the details of why i did not buy it. but i really only work with 2 companys around here and that is xxx motor sports and panhandle performance. cant talk a lot of crap yet my car is still a dyno queen.

im more of a blower guy mainly cause i have not worked with turbo's yet, i know the correct size turbo is key to making a setup work but i never know which size to go with. this year im focusing on my drive train and suspention, next year i may do cams and a ysi trim upgrade. who knows i may just start another project build.
