easy way to put it is hook up the converter to the back of your head unit wires or the speaker wires in the back run your amp wires to the battery and converter and once you have it all hooked up turn the bass all the way down on the head unit and adjust the gain/bass level on your amp from there to your liking thats IF you dont have a remote bass control with the amp you pic up then you control the sub bass and factory speaker bass separately no need to hook up your factory speakers to an aftermarket amp unless your factory amp is blown. point blank all you will need is the converter and an amp with a bass control on it which these days about 8 out of 10 amps have them and hookin up the remote to the amp is like plugging in a phone or internet cable simple as 1+1 its up to you where you want the remote wire routed to and through.

I haven't read the whole thread but for my brother's explorer we spliced in the RCA converter as mentioned earlier in the thread. Then for each of his door speakers we spliced in bass blockers, which essentially block all low bass frequencies from going into the door speakers and they are only sent to the amp/sub. So there is no bass from the door speakers and you can use the stock head unit bass adjustment for the sub since that is the only speaker providing bass tones for your system. It sounds quite nice for an all stock set up with an alpine 12 inch type R and 500 watt amp.

yeah i thought about just turn the amp up. seemed like a good idea. so i would run the converter from the speaker wires that are by the rear window? would that work? it would be less wiring ya know. then just run the rest, and there is a remote switch from the mach system? wat wire is the remote wire? arent most on aftermarket radios blue?

I'm not sure if there is a remote wire on the Mach system, I know back in the day even stock stereos had remote wires for power antennas, etc but I haven't seen a power antenna in a minute.

Some of the newer, higher quality amps, have a new technology.. I can't remember what it's called, but the remote is built into the input signal. When the amp senses more than X amount of power through the input connections it turns on the amp. It's not quite as good as a remote but works.

you should be able to wire it into any of the speaker wires I was abble to use my rear speaker wires bc I cut alot of the plastic away from the factory speaker box that is in the rear so I could fit a 15" in the trunk. And no I dont recall seeing a remote switch on the back of the mach system i could be wrong though but I have my remote wire running to a fuse in my fuse box that way the amp only comes on when the car is in the on position or running not when im just sitting with the key turned to the rear listening to the radio to keep from draining the battery. But the remote wire is blue. I eventually ditched the mach head unit since i couldnt really play my burned cd's and went with a pioneer head unit. I now have alot more control over the sound and more control over the amp. but I ran the mach with the converter for 3+ years. but your amp bass control wire with remote is totally separate from tha blue remote wire.

If you do any of this wrong you could really mess things up and some have burned their cars wiring up systems wrong If you think you have it down go for it but if not places like best buy wires all that stuff up for like $70++ just buy all the things you need from other places hell the whole amp kit and converter can be purchased at wal mart for $40++ and you can find A good amp wherever--with a remote wire bc all amps dont have them but most do. But if you hook it up wrong and fry something then its on you if best buy or whoever does it then if smthng happens you can go back to them. Ive been into hooking that crap up since I was 16 and now im 29 and I did a few wrong when I 1st started and fried some things amps, alternator wires etc... just be carefull with it or pay the $70++ to get it done at a shop.

yeah so u ran the Amp remote wire (the one that goes to the blue aftermarket head unit wire) to a fuse that turns on when the car is in the On position. So u basically just tied into a hot wire correct (not an all time hot, just when they key is turned on), then ran an inline fuse? or just the fuse panel.

im starting to confuse myself lmao. i think i can do it tho, i mean ive wired up a couple complete systems before with no problem.
