Newly Lowered

I just lowered my 'stang. I used H&R Sport Springs(not the Super Sports) from Maximum Motorsports. Pretty easy job, it only took 3 hrs in the garage with a jack and jack stands. As of now, only an hour or so after finishing these are the measurments. I measured from the wheel lip to the top of the fender well.

-----------Stock----W/H&R
Right F------7"-------5 1/2"
Left F------6 3/4"----5 1/2"
Right R------7"---------6
Left R------6 3/4"----5 3/4"

I expect the measurements to even out after a while of sitting. I have an alignment scheduled for Monday morning. I will post the measurements again as well as the alignment specs, before and after. Also, I removed the isolators from the top of the front springs only. The bottom front and both of the rear isolators are still in.

I don't know if its just me but every mustang I've seen has a slight lean to the left. Mine does and all my buddies' cars do as well, so that could be why it may be slight higher on the right rear than the left rear.

I know my left rear is a smidge lower than my right rear, nothing noticeable though really.

So, after 2 days of sitting the height measurements have not changed from what I originally posted. I got the alignment done this morning. The specs are as follows:

Factory Specs:

Camber- .3 to -1.3
Caster- 4.0 to 2.5
Toe- .0 to .25

My Specs:
-----------Left--------Right
Camber___ -1.7_______ -1.4
Caster____ 4.1 _______ 3.7
Toe______ .07 _______ .18

They are not too far off. After driving her around a bit this morning I am happy. She tracks down the road like she always has. The drop isnt as low as I had hoped but it does look a whole lot better with less gap in the fenderwell. There is no difference in ride harshness and she feels tighter in hard turns. There are also no new squeaks or noises coming from leaving the front iso's out. If you are looking for a better stance but don't want to be sitting in the weeds I would recommend these springs.

New springs will take at least a few hundred miles before they start to settle.....

Did you need CC plates for that kind of drop?

John

CC's are always good to get but for these H&R Sports and those similar like Eibach Pro's that only drop around 1.5 inches don't need CC plates since the drop is not so drastic as are Super Sports and Sportlines.

I did not use CC plates. I feel that the alignment specs are not too far off and I will live with them.
