Question

Nano Nitrous

I have been experiencing consistently slower times after every run using a 150 shot and a bottle heater. I lose between 1.-.2 each run even after the pressure is brought up to 900 and after a few runs it won't even reach a good pressure. I have been reluctant to buy a nano nitrous kit in the past, but I am thinking about getting one now. What have yall heard about the kits? I've read magazine articles, but have heard nothing first hand.

as for the nano system, i'm not fond of them personally. if you do get one, get a wideband to keep track of afr's. there have been a lot of people running leaner with the nano system.

Have you been letting it cool down in between runs and ran it at the same pressure each time?

I have the heater on between runs. Most of the time it gets up to optimal pressure, but after 3 or 4 1/8th mile passes it doesn't make it all the way. The only good pass I get is off of a full bottle.

Well, have you heard anything about the kit? It will be around the same price as a bottle heater if the heater is broken.

You might have a small leak in your connections. Open your bottle to fill the lines, then close the bottle. Now your lines will have pressure but will not be connected to the bottle. If you have a gauge after the bottle record your pressure, if not it will be less accurate to tell if you have a leak. Come back out at least an hour later and check the pressure in the lines with the bottle still off. It might drop a MAX of 50 PSI in the lines, any more than that suggests a leak.

If you do not have a gauge after the bottle just do a quick purge with the bottle open, remember about how loud/violent it is then turn off the bottle. Come back at least an hour later and purge it again. It will get less loud quick but your just listing to that 1st half of a second you purge it to see if the pressure sounded like it dropped a lot or not. Do this test with the bottle at outside temp.

You can usually tell when there is frost forming around the leak.
