And how much do you think a decent capacitor would go for?

1. The reason why your lights dim is due to the under gauge size wire in the stang leading to poor grounding. You can solve this buy buying a grounding kit sold on ebay for about $80 and spend all day replacing wires. Or buy a 2 farad capacitor and problem solved. I never spent more than $30 on one and they handle a 1700 Watt system. Only complaint is I have had one go on me when water leaked into the trunk and release a clear gas that nearly made me pass out. But details…
2. 5X7 is stock speaker size and will fit in the pre drilled stock mounting locations (doors and rear shelf) 3. Someone else 4. Just white stripes I say no to inserts.

Thanks man, so your saying the wire I have to my ground isn't enough? If the capacitor fixes it and its $30 I think I might go with that (and try to avoid spills) that really happened to you? was it while you were driving?
So do both 5x7 and 6x8 fit? which one would be better for me to use? and stupid walmart says that our mustangs have 6 speakers front doors rear deck and two where the back seats are, thats deffinetly not true right...? unless ford found some way to hide the speakers from me lol. You think white? hmm yeah I mean I've had it for like 6 months without inserts so what the hell I really just want stripes there are absolutely no mustangs with stripes around me in this part of Florida.

Ok so I decided on white stripes what do you guys think of the two stripes vs the rally stripe on our generation?

Ok one more question for now and then I'm done unintentionally bumping this thread (sorry) and then off to work so thank you in advance to anyone that answers! I'm starting to look for a new amp for my sub and I'm going to use my stupid little sony piece of crap for my rear speakers when I get them so I was wondering if anyone could help me find a good amp under $100 that would be perfect for my sub which is the link below. But if you don't want to look at it the basics are 100-275 rms, 1100 watt peak, 4ohm and dual voice coil. Thanks guys.
Infinity 1062w Reference Series 10" subwoofer with dual 4-ohm voice coils at Crutchfield.com

The mach 460 sound system which is pretty much in all 99-04 mustangs has two door speakers, two door tweeters; two speakers on the rear shelf with built in tweeter and sub. Fords version of the three way speaker along with tiny amps mounted to the underside of the shelf. 6X8 will fit personally don’t like them cause there all 3 way. I get my lows from tweeters, mids from 2 ways and base from subs. None of this one speaker does it all garbage. Look at my garage for speaker set up for ideas sorry no pics.
Yes happened while I was driving and it happened fast one moment felt fine next the blackness came. Smelled a familiar electronic component burning smell rolled down the winds and made it home to find dielectric acid coming out of my capacitor. Tossed it and dropped in a new one the next day. Only two colors I can imagine on a red stang that’s white and black. White is sharp and clean where black is bold and mean. I’d rather have sharp and clean.

Hmm they're all like that? But haha 3-way is easier for me I don't have the money to buy components and my sub gets the lows so I figure I'll be all good with some 3-way's but I'll take a look at your garage and wow that sucks good thing you opened your window though could have turned out really bad!
So I decide on white and I was at a friends house tonight telling him I'm going to put some stripes on the stang and he was like why would you pay for stripes? Just paint them, so now I'm thinking pros and cons of painting vs sticker stripes? I'm sure he would let me use his stuff to paint so I think paint would be cheaper but would it look better? or at least as good? Would it be harder?

So I just ordered a pair of Rockford Fosgate p1683 3-way speakers for myself for christmas, thinking of getting a capacitor and a new amp for my sub then I'm going to move the sony to the new speakers anyone have any ideas for capacitors or amps? And does anyone know if there are any stripe kits that are cheaper then the ones on americanmuscle?
