Unless you have a gap tool which I doubt bc the icar ones are hard to come by, the bmw factory ones (like a ford/otc relation) are about $120 for a chunk of plastic, and I donno who else makes one thats worth having. Just do it by eye and feel and youll be able to get it damn near perfect. Gaps will change once painted etc as well.

Set the fender on and get your door to fender gap right starting with the bottom bolt, then work your way up. May have to go back to the bottom bolt and make another adjustment it just all depends, make sure your body lines line up. Then to get the fender - hood gap right put one bolt in the front of the fender one bolt in the back get the back right first then the front then go back through and put the rest of the bolts in. Shouldnt take but 2-3 minutes a fender unless youre using aftermarket junk thats gonna take a little playing with. Compare side to side visually and feeling with finger tip then adjust if needed.

Yeah I thought so the problem is it was in an accident some asshole cut me off slammed on his brakes and I went under him. So I pulled my front end with a come along and everything lines up almost spot on just frustrated trying to get both fenders lining up with each other.

If the fenders arent lining up right then its not square more than likely. Or what do you mean by not lining up? Cant get the gaps the same side to side? One side has a huge or small gap compared to the other etc?

No it's more like me being a perfectionist its off by like tops 1/8 inch buts its just frustrating when you go from having a mint car to a now totaled title and trying to get everything perfect again, being where I live auto body is incredibly expensive 500 to paint a fender. I paid 300 to paint 1/4 window louvers and my dad was quoted at 10k to paint a 70 torino black. So I try to do all my body work my self. Although I am going to south carolina for nuclear power school in about 5 months hopefully it'll be cheaper there. Thanks for the help bro

Id get it a big closer as well 1/8 is a decent ways off visually. Then again you wont get it perfect, keep in mind no car is perfect, even a brand new off the assembly line car doesnt have perfect gaps.

Where do you live?
