Took my baby to the shop...

After fighting a problem on my 2001 Gt for about 5 months I finally decided to take it to the shop and see if they can tell me what's wrong.

Very frustrated right now. It has been sputtering and seems to have been running rich for some time. The problem seemed to come out of nowhere. Started one day and got worse until it was like that all the time.

The worst part about it? I took it over last night and dropped it off, and the whole way (about 20 miles) it ran just fine... no loss of power, barely a sputter if at all.. First time in 5 months it has ran that well. Just my luck.. They haven't called me yet today but I just hope it acts up for them so they can start lookin at what is wrong.

I honestly think the computer is going bad. Sometimes it runs well and other times not? It just doesnt make any sense. At one point it would start late one night (about a week ago). Wouldn't turn over, just clicked. I got my tuner and re-flashed my tune onto it and it fired right up... WTF!

Hopefully I will hear something from them today..

i have this problem in my sc300, always acts fine when it goes into a mechanic. i found sometimes if the problems are intermittent and it might be some shredded wires somewhere bouncing around so sometimes it will have connectivity and sometimes not.

not sure exactly what your problems are but i would check all wiring to senders, o2 sensors, main harness etc.

i assume your current on all your maintainence?

yea it's up to date on all maintenance. I've tried many things to solve the issue.. new plugs, several new coils for suspected bad ones, cleaned the air filter, new fuel filter, new o2 sensors... very. very frustrated.

hmnnnnnnnnnn, just a shot in the dark but i would definetly get in there with a nice LED flashlight and check all the wiring pigtails to sensors and wiring harness and such, you could have a pigtail thats halfway shredded
