How does a window switch work?
I have purchased a used NX wet nitrous kit. To activate the nitrous the previous guy had it set up so that when he would activate a switch it would power this little button that when pressed would send a 12v signal to the nitrous solenoids.
I want to have the nitrous activating only in certain rpms (3000-5300??) and only during WOT. So if I buy a window switch (thinking of buying the ZEX window switch This is how I think it works: 1) I activate a switch that has power from the battery. 2) that switch arms the window switch and the WOT switch. 3) when the car reached 3k rpms it sends a signal to the WOT switch 4) when the WOT switch is activated it sends a signal to the nitrous. Is this right? also, are the correct jet sizes for NX wet single fogger kit 52 n2o 33 fuel? Any help would be really appreciated, thanks.

A window switch will activate and deactivate at the rpms that you set them to.

Why not run nitrous. It's a proven safe reliable power adder when installed and tuned correctly

Purchase the ZEX Traction Control Window Switch, then you can select what gear it will activate and also set the RPM low/high points.
Without using a device to select what gear you want it to activate, once you turn on the nitrous it would be injecting anytime you hit WOT. If you have a standard don't use nitrous in 1st gear unless you have really fast reflexes. Also when shifting with nitrous you want to come off the throttle when shifting. That's why it's best to set your nitrous to were it will shut off at 300 rpm before you would normally shift, for example if you shift at 6500 rpm, adjust your high setting at 6200 rpm, that way the nitrous will be burned up by the time you hit your shifting point. Go to the ZEX website I think the have the information on the jet size combinations.

thanks for all the info guys.
Im looking to spend no more than 150$ hopefully. I found a NX window switch for 100$ but I dont think those have the gear lockouts. and I also found a msd digital for the same price. Is the ZEX window switch the only one that has the gear lock out? and does it also act as a WOT switch?

what window switch do you have? and is the pressure gauge the one on the bottle, or one I could set up in the dash? I already have the bottle gauge.

The window switch has a series of circuits that simply connect or disconnect power to the solenoids to either close or open the circuit. Only way a window switch will work is if you have it floored (WOT) and in the set RPM window. You could tach the car to 6,000 RPMS in every gear while the system is activated and it will not spray as long as you are 99% throttle or less. You can floor the car anywhere outside the RPM window and it will not spray.
Say you have the window set for 3,000-5,000 RPMS, you can be in any gear and floor the car at 1,000 RPM's and it will take off on motor. When the RPM's hit 3,000 RPM's it will start to spray, when it gets to 5,000 RPM's it will stop spraying. Here is a window switch Harris Speed Works*::*Nitrous Controllers*::*Nitrous Window Switches & Timing Controllers*::*The MicroEdge Nitrous Controller Some general info Nitrous install, pics, Q's &A's, and Info

If you have you system set up as WOT. Then they both will. There is 2 white wires. One goes to the TPS the other to the NMU.(zex)

Understand that with traction control you can still have the N20 flowing at low RPM with WOT if you wire in a progressive rate controller. They are fairly in expensive in relation to the system as a whole, and this will allow you to run a n2o HP ratings of (for example) 60hp initial at say, 1,700 RPM's then 125hp by the time 2700 RPM's are reached and then 170 by the time the motor is spinning 3900. I don't know too much bout this n2o stuff, but my father has a flow controller on his 90 camaro and he can play with three sets activation points within each gear.
