Procharger Cold Startup


When i start my car when its cold the procharger pulley chirps... then stops when it warms up what should i do? i spray wd40 in it when its cold and it stops if for like 10 seconds

dont spray wd40 on it for one, unless you like getting belt slip and loosing boost. if its making sound i would look into one of the idler pulleys next to it but if it is your head unit then it is most likely a bearing in it.

I've had worn belts do that. When was the last time you changed the belt?

belt looks good no cracks, and i cant see what boost i make cas idk how to hook up my boost gauge fml

I spliced a T fitting into one of the vacuum tubes off my plenum.

take a look at your tensoner, if it is not in the middle or higher you may need a shorter belt.

Prochargers are much much louder when they are cold. Mine almost always sounded like it was chirping til it warmed up and then just made the distinct Procharger whistle

this mount seem like a stupid question, but the unit does have the correct amount of oil in it right?

my friend had a procharer and he said he never checked the oil, then it broke and he looked inside to find the oil turned to powder.

lol... aren't you supposed to change it like every 5,000 miles? My Vortech doesn't make any weird noises when starting it in 20 degree weather. A couple times I heard it whislte a little louder for like the first 3 seconds.
