Seat Belt Guide Tape

The seat belt guide mounted on the B pillar above and behind the seat has a piece of translucent whitish tape on the the lower bar over which the belt passes. It appears to be there to reduce friction and keep the belt from binding. Mine is worn out, the Ford dealer had no schematic which showed the tape on the guide, does anyone know how to get the tape short of replacing the whole seat belt assembly?

My car doesn't have any tape on the seat belt guide either. Maybe the previous owner done that?

^ same here. Car has never had anything like that on it and was bought new so its not like it could have been there in the past and then removed by someone down the line. So I agree with dale, sounds like someone put it on there on purpose.

One way or the other I wouldnt worry about it.
