Gears Setup
OK guys, Im planning to do a winter project with my mustang. Right now im a 4.6 naturally aspirated. This winter/spring Im dropping in another 4.6 fully forged bottom with parts that are rated for 1000hp. I have a vortech supercharger and im hooking up my nitrous. so i believe 600hp+ to the rear wheels.
What gears would you recommend for that setup up. Maybe 3.55 or maybe less. Thanks |

just leave the 4.56s in until its all done. Then if the gears are too much(which they probably will be) switch them out then.

I'd say 3.55 or less. Maybe 3.23 depending on how tall your tires are and how much spray.

If you leave 4.56's with the setup your intending...better just start out in 2nd or 1st with a 1500-2000 launch feathering it bc your just gonna spin all the way through 1st. But i would do 3.73 bc that seems to be a semi-universal gear for just about any setup.
