supercharged : dyno results

hey guys got the gt back from the shop procharged running 8.64 psi & intercooled on a conservative tune. It was a Mustang Dyno, with all that said she produced 335whp & 345tq. Does this seem accuracte? Also why do people tell me it's a "Mustang Dyno" does this affect the numbers? Thanks Guys

Mustang Dyno's compensate for certain factors and usually result in a lower HP/TQ rating. The numbers are just #'s man as long as you are happy with it thats all that matters.

If the base pull was done (225WHP) on the same dyno, under similar conditions, then the numbers seem correct to me. 110WHP and a little less than 100RWTQ sounds about right for around 9 PSI. Go to a track and see what you can lay down. That will be the real test of your setup.

mustang dynos read a bit lower so thats why it matters. If you are happy with the car and it runs right thats what is important, so dont worry so much about your lower numbers.

okay i was just wondering, and yes im very happy with the numbers more with how she feels. i will post the sheet either tonight or in the morning. my only issue is i have stock gt 17x8's with bf goodwrench tires 245 width. they spin every time i try and get on it, i have put 26k on those tires. uncertain how much previous owner did. so every time i've tried to hit boost for a minute, she spin's. would new tires fix this?

tires are one of the best mods on the market. get your self a good set of dr's and some suspention upgrades and it will be night and day. that is if your stock axles and diff hold up.

yes my only question is i would get on the interstate at about 50-60 mph, take off overdrive and stomp it. the traction light would come on and two of the times when that happen it hit rev limit and not shift. i am very new to this sort of power and let off once i saw that green light because i didn't want to mess up anything.

turn off your traction control. there is a button for it. also if its not shifting take it back to your tuner.

your tuner could've/shouldve set your shift point right below or right at 6000rpm and turned off the traction control period if you have a handheld tuner you can do the traction control yourself instead of cutting it off everytime you get in but whomever did your car can do the trac and shiftpoinds in a matter of minutes. As far as your numbers those are decent numbers I put down 339/358 non ic 5psi but its all about how it feels to you.

Not to hijack the thread, ok, maybe I am, sorry for that, but it seems this thread has pulled in some folks knowledgeable in the supercharger realm. Can I put a supercharger on a 100% stock 89 GT? And it is 100% stock aside from the 2nd set of tires on it, and the pioneer CD deck. Car has 52k miles on it and a stock AOD. Thanks

A mustang dyno reads about 11-12% lower than a dyno jet. So that would put you at 375/386, which are damn good numbers for an auto with a P1sc at 8.6psi.

Mustang dynos read lower because they actually put a load on the rollers. Dyno-jet dynos are lighter. Mine was tuned on a Mustang dyno which had a 3000lb load on the rollers, so it takes more power to turn them and get a more accurate reading of RWHP. It acts as the weight of the car on a road. Those are the more "real" horsepower numbers type of dynos.
