35th & 40th Anniv vs Just Reg GT

Ok, I have a few friends of mine sayin that the 35th and 40th anniversy edition of the mustangs are different than just the regular editions. I have a 99 GT which is the 35th and it is completely stock besides coils and I outran a WRX STI and almost outran an EVO IX so i dont know if this is normal or this car is just a freak!!!!! Can someone help me here plz???

They were bad drivers! The only difference is the badging on them!

I have several friends with Evo's and STI's. The Evo always whips the STI stock for stock.

i am pretty sure atleast on the 40th anniversarys it was a package and was offered in certain colors but wasnt any performance upgrades. just some decals and some interior crap

Then ONLY diff is the feder badges... im thinking that the people you have raced dont know how to drive.

The 40th Anniversary Package offers performance-oriented exterior and interior upgrades to V-6 and GT models and will be available in an exclusive Crimson Red, as well as Black and Oxford White. Inside, a standard upgrade package features a four-way head restraint, brushed aluminum door lock knobs and unique floor mats with an embroidered 40th Anniversary logo and a matching badge on the center console.

there was 5700 40th anniversary editions made. all the mustangs from those years had the fender badges but the anniversary package was a little different. but no performance upgrades. yea sounds like those guys couldnt drive

not actually true, there are several differences for the 03/04, the cams are slightly different, resulting in 10-15 more hp, some electronics changed, even for the 04 the e;ectronics are little differnet than 03, nothing big but theyre are a few subtle difference..... but anyway a stock GT is in stock evo, stock sti territory anyway - thats not a big suprise esp since they are hard to launch

in 99 they had a limited edition package(anniversary)there were 4628 made,performance red,black,silver or white only.they have the hood,side scoops,rear spoiler that 2001 and up have,silver leather inserts in interior.few other appearance mods.horsepower was the same.horsepower on all 99-04 was 260,except the bullit in 01 which was rated at 265

nah i have the 00GT and its stock and it fucks up allot of cars a reg mustang should not.
