.35-.40 close gap would prevent it from blowing out the spark. but if your spraying a small shot you wil be ok with .40-.45.

During my research I read .30-.35 and .45 is for normal NA use.

problem isn't the gap its TR6's in your windsor heads.

do your heads a favor & exchange them for autolite 103's.

autolite's have 1 less thread on them & don't stick out into the combustion chamber on a windsor head like the other full threaded spark plugs will (especially TR6's)

That Modular Head Shop article explains why some Windsors spit out their spark plugs and some don't. Looking close at the pictures it looks to me that the spark plugs in both the bad head and the good one have the same number of threads exposed. They said it appears to be random. But why take the chance. I'm assuming that Autolite 103s are a one step colder plug same as the NGK TR6s.

+1^ autolite 103's are not only one step colder, they have 1 less thread.

spark plugs coming out are almost always (I say almost to be nice, but it's closer to always) due to improper instalation.

it has nothing to do with what kind of plug you use.
