swapping from 3.73 to 4.10's...worth it?

would it be worth the troubles to switch these out? i can do all the work myself and wouldn't mind tearing the rear apart to put new clutch packs in it, but i dunno how much gain i'd get from swapping down to 4.10's. all you gear experts i need your opinions .

There are a couple of gear threads active tonight. If you're still running nitrous, probably not. If you're all motor then maybe.

Not worth the trouble IMO. It's like a .1 difference in the 1/4.

the thing most guys miss (including the o/p in this case) is there is a big diffrence with an auto car.

for an auto new edge GT, yes switch to 4.10's. if there isn't a converter in your imidiate future, go with 4.30's.

autos react completely diffrent from 5spd's & can handle/need more gear.

3.73 to 4.10's on a mostly stock auto new edge? 3 tenths on a good day & a much more fun car to drive.

thanks for the words of wisdom. i'd say a converter is still in my future so 4.10's it is

I totally agree with caspers post!! 4.10's on an automatic. If you plan on running a power adder in the future, then go 3.73, I run 3.73 and that's more than enough, with my KB, by the time I'm at the end of the 1/4 I'm at redline in 4th..
