07 GT500 wheels on 99 Cobra?

I have been going back and forth about wheels. I had originally wanted 2000 Cobra R wheels, but have access to some 07 Gt500 wheels.

Here are the specs of both wheels:

2000 Cobra R
18x9.5 20mm offset

07 GT500
18x9.5 45mm offset

So my math tells me that a 25mm (or 1") spacer will make the specs equal. And the GT500 wheels have reliefs between the lugs on the inside I would need to run the 1" spacers. I did lots of Googling and couldn't find any pictures of these wheel on a 99-04. Anyone see any issues with this setup?

the math checks out as long as youre goin by 2.54cm:1" so why not?

Ehhh, I wouldn't put GT500 wheels on a new edge, they just don't look right. I'm not a fan of the 00Rs either but they'd look better than the GT500s. Just my 2 cents.

I think the opposite- the new gt500 wheels are ugly to me. I do like the mesh styled ones though.

A spacer will indeed allow you to run this wheel, but one thing that is VERY important here

The 1" spacer is typically going to have its own set of new lug-bolts. The OEM ones will protrude through and PAST the surface of this spacer. If your new wheels do NOT have an opening to accept the OEM studs poking through, you will have to cut the extra off to mount the wheels. If you ever want to remove the spacers, you will have to install new studs in axles.

I have the conversion set up for using s197 wheels on a new edge all you need is a 1 inch spacer and new longer studs

Those look pretty horrible- like a 10 year old Enkei design.

They look good on 05+ cars, but dont fit at all on 99-04's.

I like the 18x9.5 GT500s because I can run fat rubber (275/35/18) all around. If I want to take my car on vacation, I wont have to worry about having a flat and different sized tires front/rear. I love the look of staggered wheels, but I dont want to live with them; I have been there before.
