It's not about a perfect rpm or anything. It depends on the car and how aggressive the cams are. Most stage 2+ cammed cars won't hold an idle below like 700rpm. But if you can tune the car to idle around 700-850 instead of just raising the rpm to prevent stalling, it sounds a lot better. You will get more of a chop, use less gas, and won't sound like you are keeping the throttle partway down all the time.

Yeah Caleb at fastlane had it at 800 but it died a lot when you were low RPM's driving and then pushed in the clutch so i raised it up to 900, now it doesn't do it as bad. Car has no longtubes just Super 44's welded in the stock catback with a O/R H-pipe on it.

removed front sway bar and gutted trunk. i've removed pass. seat and rear seat but it did nothing. it did run an 8.1x @ 83 on my 12.7 and 12.8 passes but it was more so the cooler air temps, low 60 degrees. my car runs 8.20's which equates to 12.90's on any given day, hot or cold.
i'm sure, almost positive there's more in the car with more tuning (shift points) oh and also, stock struts/shocks on cut springs...bone stock suspension...stock control arms aswell.

Your car sounds really good. I'm stoked to see what mine sounds like with the comp 270's.

I've got the Hi tech stage 2's and mine dies now and again. I think its more so my old ass o2 sensors not staying hot with the lts though. They kinda cut in and out.
I can't wait to see what mine would do on a 150 shot. Your car sounds good and those are some great numbers. |
