4.6L with CMS cams, bolt ons, and spray on the dyno with video

After an ALL day event i finally got my car tuned and it went good and bad. The dyno was 4 hours away so i left the house at 5AM and didnt get back till 10:30pm. On the way there i got 34 MPG's (YES 34!) with the cruise on the whole time riding about 65-70 MPH. The car had the 87 Octane gas saver tune from Breenspeed in it on the way down there. I had a terrible exhaust gasket leak at the midpipe to header flange that ate up about 6hrs this morning getting that fixed. The lower bolt that goes into the stock headers on the passenger side would tighten without getting the flange tight (dont ask) After that was done the tuning started

Got the final #'s on the motor N/A peaked out at 285 WHP and 315 WTQ, the timing was 18 or 19* i believe (il post the sheet and video tomorrow) it was about 60 degrees in the shop.

I ordered 125 Jets for my plate straight from NX and they wound up sending me 90 pills! And turned out that i thought i had been spraying a 100 shot this whole time before the cams but those jets were actually a 75 shot. I had the 75 and the 90 shot jets and the shop searched up and down for 125 jets but the best we could come up with was the 90 jets so i was hoping to get it tuned with the 125 shot but wound up getting it tuned with only 90 shot pills.

On the 90 shot it put down 383 WHP and 468 WTQ, the window switch was set to come on @ 3,600 RPMs which i turned down to 3,300 RPMs after i left the shop. If i had the window set at about 32-33 hunderd RPM's it would of probably been close to 500 WTQ. I think not having long tubes really hurt the #'s as well.

The fuel pump duty cycle was 80% which is nice and low, injectors were at about 82% duty cycle and AFR's were a tad rich through out the 2 tunes. I no longer have FRPS failure due to high fuel spikes in between shifts now which made me pretty happy, the car idles a lot better now too.

My guess/hopes for the #'s N/A were 290/310 WHP/WTQ and 430/530 WHP/WTQ on a 125 shot, now lets do some math
I KNOW THESE ARE NOT DEAD ON BUT SHOULD BE CLOSE

Car put down 285 WHP N/A and 383 on a 90 shot, divide those #'s and you will get a gain of 1.088 WHP per 1 shot of nitrous

Car put down 315 WTQ N/A and 468 on a 90 shot, divide those #'s and you will get a gain of 1.70 WTQ per 1 shot of nitrous

Times 1.088 by 125 you get a gain of 136 WHP on a 125 shot
Times 1.7 by 125 you get a gain of 212.5 WTQ on a 125 shot

Add those #'s to what it put on the motor and it should be roughly 421/527.5 WHP/WTQ on a 125 shot, so my guess of what it would put down on the 2 tunes was just about spot on

I will probably ride the 90 jets till i feel its slow again and then i will probably go back and install some 125 jets and get her re-tuned but for now im pretty happy with it. I have 2 videos of the nitrous runs and some pics of the shops personal GT500 that is SICK! The blower sticks out about a foot out of the hood and has like 22 inch by 20 inch wheels and mini tubed and boosted out the ass. It only has 250 miles on it and they said its for show only and will never even see the track lol. Im tired and dont feel like messing with the vids and sheets tonight so i will post up everything tomorrow when i get up. Any questions fire away, mods are in my garage. Baz.....

Awesome news Baz!!! With only 18-19 degrees of timing, that is not bad N/A power at all. Most guys run up in the mid 20s while N/A on stockish compression especially with cams. I have no doubt you'd be a tad over 290rwhp with a little more timing, but what's the point really to add a handful of horsepower with timing when you can add another 100rwhp with the flip of a switch!!!

How does the car feel with the new cams? I know it might be harder to tell the difference between where you are/were N/A when you have a nice little shot putting you in the back of your seat all the time.

It has that drawn out pull feeling that keeps building power the higher you go with it. It does not feel that much different but the numbers it put down it defiantly should be quicker then it was. The initial pull when you floor it at about 4 grand in 2nd is pretty strong on the motor. It spins way to much to even get on it in 1st.

And Stal! lol you were close but no i ment this LazyBoy couch feels to good to get off of

With those cams, you should be shifting around 6400 N/A now I'm sure once you start doing that, it might feel like it pulls a bit harder too

Next time you go to do the 125 shot tune, you should have them raise the limiter on your N/A tune and tune the car up to about 6500. You only are showing that you pulled to 5800. Those cams will make power well after 6,000rpm

Man I can't wait to get mine on a dyno and get it dialed in N/A Ns Juiced. Car looks and sounds real good.

I'm putting myself up in the 350rwhp range on motor, so spray should put me up around 470rwhp/550rwtq on a 100shot. You are getting me excited to be heading down to the states where I have more thanone or two options as to where I go for a tune.
