What tires would be good for these rims?

Well I have 97 mustang v6, which has stock 15 in rims. I am now planning to replace with 17x8 original Mustang wheels that came with a 1999 Mustang GTR. The guy I bought rims from included 2 tires free which are the following:

Goodyear - Eagle F1 P275/40 ZR17

Pirelli - P6 P245/45/ R17

So I don't even know if these will fit on my car, there the ones he had on the 99 GTR. I'm thinking the 275 one might be too thick, but I'm not sure. Any help on what kind of tires I should be buying? Thankx

Theres no such thing as a Mustang GTR of any year. The closest to that is the GTS which came out in the first couple years of the sn-95. Are you possibly talking about the 2000 Cobra R?

accually...
there is a concept GTR out.. but it's 05+

and to answer the guys question...

as long as you have a 17in rim the Pirelli - P6 P245/45/ R17 will fit fine...

the 275 is too big.
you could run it but it would not be safe

Alright mr. technical.

Also what are the odds of him owning a concept car?

Shame that car was only concept I would have loved to have seen it produced.

Oh, well that's cool. I guess I wont be using the 275 tire then. Then these rims should be a direct fit on my 97 mustang v6 though right? time to buy tires. So what do you all think is my best option for tires. Something good, but not TOOO expensive. Thanks.

yes they will bolt right up. Bridgestone Pole Position are a good all-round tire and pretty decent in wet weather.
