ABS Delete Manifold Installed

What an easy job. Much easier than I did on my old GT, with "T"ing the brake lines. Unhook 6 lines, Unbolt the ABS Pump, Unplug the connector, unbolt the bracket, and then bolt the ABS delete manifold in it's place. More space and more weight savings.

ABS pump and bracket:

Looks good, what does the pump weigh and did you have to bleed the system?

The pump and bracket was about 13lbs. I can't get an accurate measurement though.

Yes, when you break open the lines that come from the master cylinder, it will empty it within a few minutes. I had to bleed the master cylinder and all the brakes.

My ABS has been disabled for quite a while actually. I had a bad sensor, and just unplugged the pump. I just got around to deleting the pump though. If you know how to drive, and don't make a habit of doing panic stops, you'll never notice it's gone.

A guy on Mach 1 Registry makes them for $105. A bit expensive, but it makes it a very simple operation.

Well, I'm a bit older than most people here, so there was no such thing as ABS when I learned to drive, so I actually learned how to drive. Someone who knows how to drive can stop without ABS faster than slamming on the brakes and letting the ABS do it for you. The only difference is that you can lock the brakes up, it doesn't mean it happens all the time. You just have to know your car.

The brakes work exactly the same as they did before. I just don't have anti-lock anymore. The only time I remember even kicking the ABS on in the 3 years I've owned this car is because I hit a patch of ice one morning coming up to a stop sign, and it definitely didn't help in that case.

Looks good... I always wondered how they delete ABS on these cars... I'm lucky enough to not have ABS/Traction control from the factory...

I ditched the AC a few months ago, it makes the car much easier to work on, that's for sure.
