Hey F8L if you want to take any pics of this when you pull it out that would be awesome. I have a sneaking suspicion that I will be doing this soon. I feel a cold draft of out side air coming in the passenger foot well area. Also when I put it on Max ac it flows louder but weaker out of the vents, and I dont feel it blowing any better anywhere else lol.

i had to pull my dash out when i swaped heater cores, i know its not the same but that unit is large and i see it being much easier to pull with the dash out.

not sure if this helps but here is a pic of it when i swaped my heater core.

Yea, you'll have to pull the dash to get it out.

surprising there really isnt a whole lot to it. all the wire harnesses end at the kick pannels so you just unclip them there. REMOVE THE SEATS way easier. start with the steering wheel then go to the center councal/radio area. then driver passenger side, i belive it is held up by 4 bolts per side and pull that bitch out.

its really not as bad as you would think, my problem is i unhooked more than i needed, ford made the dash so everything was hooked up then droped in. there are 4 bolts down by the shfter area, 4 bolts per side, and if my memory is correct there is 3-4 wire harnesses per side to unclip, then pull the dash out.

if you look in this pic i pulled way to much out, you dont need to unhook the gauge pod, radio, i belive you may have to pull the ac stuff out cause your getting rid of it

I dont think pulling the dash would be hard at all. Just making sure thats what has to be done in order to remove the plenum

i had my dash out in a couple of hours, it takes 2 people to do cause there is a heavy ass metal bar that runs behind it, making it awkward to move around. i took the pics to show people you can pull the heater core out with out draining the ac.
