UPR Coil-overs, UPR CCs, Shocks
UPR Pro-Series Black Coilovers
I am thinking about buying these, I can get a good deal on them through a local shop, where they pay the shipping+duties etc dollar for dollar. Are these any good, any reason not to get them? Also what spring should I use? 10-375, 12-250, 12-350, 14-130, 14-150, 14-175... I want something a bit stiffer then stock, but not ridiculous.. Suggest one UPR Billet Shark CC Plates UPR 4 Bolt CC Plates BBK CC Plates Which CC Plates, same thing I can get any of these for cheaper... I was leaning toward the black ones as they are the design I more commonly see, and they are black ![]() I am also looking for shocks that do everything and more... The car won't be driven competitively but it will see both circuit and drag racing, and lots of street use.. I'd like something that can do about stock, softer for drag, and stiffer for circuit.. Edited Much more expensive route is. Qa1 Threaded struts Coil Over Kit +CC Plates+Springs Last edited by Steve03GT; January 19th, 2011 at 04:45 PM. Reason: Much more expensive route |

you can't really have best of both worlds. gotta pick drag or turns.
Softer is drag abd stiffer is circiut. So u need an inbetween setup which will be are to do IMO to act like you want

Its not a drag car, I would never think of removing my sway bars etc..
but I would like it to be able to be decent, atleast stock or better.. I wouldn't want to make my car worse then stock for drag |

Basically, the UPR 4 bolts give a bigger range of adjustment, and more strut tower stability/strength...which would be more desirable if you are looking to do more suspension upgrades in the future. If you are serious about doing one or the other when it comes to the course or the drag strip, some adjustable shocks and struts would be what you are looking for - you'll be able to adjust the ride quality for the race you want to do. But if you are looking for more of a setup that'll be on the drag strip and road course every once and a while, I would just go with some kind of street shock/strut setup. You definitely can't have the best of all worlds in 1 car, unless it's basically just set up as a DD/street car with a sway bar...which will definitely limit the car when it comes to the road course and the drag strip.

Okay.. Thanks for the help, REPS around
Other question, I could either get that UPR kit, with sleeves that go over shocks, (I'd use my stock shocks for now until I wanted more[of course only if this would work for temp]) the shocks are new anyways might as well use them.. If I can't use my stock struts, I mgiht as well buy the Qa1 kit, which is a lot more money but has the shocks with sleeves already on them, at 280 a peice, plus the coilover kit at 160, and then I also need springs and CC plates, thats an expensive set up when its basically just a DD I would rather just buy the 200 dollar UPR kit and the CC plates, and buy whatever shocks I want later... This is assuming that the upr kit works on OEM shocks |

Great thanks! Any info on which spring I should get? 10-375, 12-250, 12-350, 14-130, 14-150, 14-175
And I can use that coilover kit on my stock shocks? If the sleeve fits |

I had the UPR Shark CC plates, and they sucked. I have the 4 bolt ones now, and they're much better.
I would not use the coilovers on stock struts, they won't last very long. And you need to figure out what you want the car to do. 150 or 175lb springs are very soft, and are for mainly drag cars.

I have UPR Coilover sleeves along with they're 4 bolt cc plates, I have no complains about them, they’ve worked flawlessly for me
I have 12-350 lbs springs up front and love them, they are stiffer than stock, if you want stockish go with the 12-250. |

As stated above....strange or QA1 adjustable shocks/struts would work best. 12-250 springs would work well, also. The stiffness is pretty much equivalent to a lowering spring...not too stiff, but not soft at all. They will work, but won't be GREAT for the drag strip. For the drag strip, a 14-175 (if your car is 3200lbs+) would work best, but it's too soft for the road course.
Did you use them? I would return them and get the 4 bolts if they are still new...the 4 bolt plates will give more strength, especially for coil overs. |

Have not used them but im just worried about after i am done with the car and when i take it to get aligned they say the CC plates dont have enough adjustment to get it aligned right. UPR is they one that recommended the 3 bolt plates.
