Turbo questions????

I have been searching the site to no avail. I am interested in in possibly doing a turbo setup and have been looking at on3's setup...
My questions are: anyone know if these come with a canned tune.
Do I need a tuner?
Also any tuners around tn/ms that are known would be great...

the reason I am asking is simply because of where i may have to take it in order to be tuned. That being said i know they have a chip but dont want to go that route if I dont have to. would rather do a tuner.

a good one lol or do you want to buy a new motor and learn the hard way. I know people who travel well over 5 hours. Some people pay tuners to come to them and tune their cars

lemme ask you this? I know there is a tuner here in town. He has his own shop! It is called TKO motorsports. But all That I know of him dealing/tuning is imports. Should i even address him or is it a waste of time. I am trying to get a good comparison on which route i will be taking.

+1....Turbo Mustangs are fickle bitches lol...Spend the money and take the time to travel to get a good tune. Me personally on a Turbo Mustang I wouldn't trust anything but a dynotune from a respected tuner. My motor is much more expensive than a tank of gas or $400.

Go to some car shows or something and talk to guys who have mustangs that are FI. They should know of at least one shop. I like to stick with the shops that specialize in Fords....There's 5 or 6 shops around me but I'll only take my car to one of them

Not without some kind of limp tune. And DO NOT drive the car in boost until it is tuned....Me personally I'd be towing the car.

Well it really depends who you ask. I'm sure some will say tuning is tuning, but to me, I'd rather take my car to a place that has tuned hundreds of turbo mustangs, than one that would be learning on mine. Talk to some guys here about the mail order tunes, they may be able to help, I've just always been on a dyno so that's what I'm comfy with.

yes always tow the car. If anything talk to any Mustang guys. FI or not. Some may know people who tunes cars and they their friend had his car tuned here or there.

My call will not be dynotuned but street tuned. I prefer it that way esp with a turbo and an auto car.

I wouldn't take my car there. That's what I'm saying. Check the links I sent you, found three places in Bartlet that specialize in Mustangs.

haha true...fuck that. A tuner is not a tuner. My first tuner was like 23 or something. He does A LOT of guy and is VERY well respected in the area but the car didn't preform like I thought it should have and I don't think he had enough time with auto's. I was back there quite a bit for re-tunes.

My new tuner is like 34 and pretty much ust does Mustangs. And has tuned a lot of turbo stangs. And is a big fan of the 4R70W. I feel much better this time.
