Found a Tuner...Would you use him?

I was looking for a tuner to tune my mustang after I go F/I. Found this guy and the best part is I live about 5 miles from his shop. Bad part is I didnt see any mustangs on his web site.....all GMs.

East Texas Muscle Cars | Performance Shop | Longview Texas

Here is the email I wrote him.....

I got a 2003 mustang gt that im going to be installing a vortech supercharger on hopefully sometime this year. I will be doing all my own work and was looking for a tuner that’s experienced in tuning new edge mustangs. I live about 5 miles from your shop so I could drive the car to you on a limp tune verses having to trailer the car to Dallas mustangs. I currently using a SCT X3 handheld on it and was going to ask if that’s compatible with your tuning software.

Thanks-Kevin

His response...

Kevin,
we only have software for 97 up GM
we use the Xcal for tuning on the Fords. we have a tune made and sent to use to get us close then fine tune with the parameters in the handheld

I really want someone familier with new edge mustangs. I dont want to blow my motor over a bad tune or have to keep going back for him to adjust the tune a bunch. Dyno tunes are not cheap and I want it done right the first time.

There are a lot of mustang shops in texas...

What this shop told you in case your not sure what he meant is..

He does not have SCT tuning program. he gets a canned tune and then modifies that with the handheld. I'm sure he uses the dyno with a sniffer for a/f....but his prob isn't who you want tuning your mustang...

Longview....I really dont want to drive it far without it being tuned. I could trailer it but I doubt my ranger could pull it.
