Darrin (BC automotive) dosen't build converters he just sells them & for a street application he will sell you a dirty dog converter, my advice is to just skip the middle man & just buy it from Alan.

The joys of electronic controlled transmissions.

My GT was an auto, and I ran a 4200 stall on a car that was driven a ton on the street. When I told old-school guys that I was running a 4200 stall on the streets, they called me stupid, told me I was going to burn up the transmission or converter from excess heat, etc. etc. I just laughed, and then took them for a ride.

Once Jerry W. finished my tune, it just took a little more gas pedal to get the car initially moving, but nothing crazy like most people think. Definitely nothing that would make it difficult to drive on the streets. He did the tune so that the converter locked in 2nd and up, so the only time the converter came into play was in 1st gear.

My converter was originally a PI multi-disk, but after sending it back to PI 3 times for problems with it unlocking and it still being wrong, I took it to Circle D, and it came back perfect the 1st time.

A converter with a custom tune made the largest difference in my old car. Even more of a difference than the 4.30 gears.

I thought Darrin sold Circle D converters almost exclusively???? When did he start using Alan's stuff again?

A couple months ago he did not sell dirtydog converters...I know because otherwise I wouldn't have used him for my transmission and converter.

To the OP, I have both a 3800 and 4600 stall converter in my cars. It does take a little more rpm to get moving but if you drag race, there is no better modification for faster times and better 60 foots.

kind of an odd statement since Alan has more converters in moular cars than everyone else combined.

Looks like mine and your #'s are backwards. I made about 15 more wtq and you made about 15 more whp, I have about full bolt ons minus LT's.

I wouldn't know the numbers but I do know my experiences. I have used both circle d and dirtydog multiple times. I just choose circle d for reasons I won't mention here. I had good success with both when they were working.
