Recalls for 2000 mustang gt

The previous owner of my car told me that there was a recall on the seatbelts and that he had the info about it printed but never got around to getting it to the dealership. I just called the dealership about getting it fixed and they told me there were no recalls. I'm thinking maybe what happened is he made an appointment but never showed up and they marked my VIN down as being fixed? I'm not really sure to tell you the truth, but my seatbelt doesnt wind back up when i unclick it so i thought the previous owner was telling the truth. Can anyone confirm that there was a recall? Or was the PO just tootin my horn

both of mine are finally unwound all the way and i have to tuck them behind the seat when i get out lol. I just figured it was because they are getting twisted, i was going to grab those guides that go on the headrests and see if that helps.

That's how my drivers side is, and my passenger side is getting there... i don't see how there wouldnt be a recall on them if all these people have the same issues.

SEP 20, 1999 | Recall ID# 1134 Hide Details
Recall Reason SEAT BELTS:FRONT:ANCHORAGE
Recall Date SEP 20, 1999
Model Affected MUSTANG
Potential Units Affected 25306

Recall Summary
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES. THE SEAT BELT RETRACTOR MAY HAVE A PIN SHAFT IN THE SWITCHABLE ELR/ALR MECHANISM THAT IS INCORRECTLY FORMED. IN SOME CIRCUMSTANCES, THE SWITCHING MECHANISM COULD BECOME NONFUNCTIONAL, PREVENTING THE SEAT BELT WEBBING FROM BEING EXTRACTED FROM THE RETRACTOR. IT IS ALSO POSSIBLE THAT MALFUNCTION OF THE MECHANISM COULD PREVENT THE BELT FROM BEING SWITCHED INTO THE ALR MODE. THE ELR MECHANISM IS NOT AFFECTED BY THIS CONDITION.

Consequence
IF THE MECHANISM MALFUNCTIONS AND DOES NOT ALLOW THE WEBBING TO BE EXTRACTED, THE LAP AND SHOULDER BELT COULD NOT BE WORN BY A VEHICLE OCCUPANT. IN THE EVENT THAT THE MECHANISM DOES NOT ALLOW THE ALR MODE TO BE ENGAGED, THE OPERATOR MAY BE UNABLE TO PROPERLY INSTALL A CHILD SEAT IN THAT SEATING POSITION.

Remedy
DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE LAP AND SHOULDER BELT ASSEMBLIES. ASSEMBLIES WITH JULIAN DATE CODES OF 200 THROUGH 223 ARE SUSPECT AND WILL BE REPLACED.

Same issue with mine. Thinking about buying some real seats and slapping a harness in.

Where did you find that??? I just called ford and apparently there was a recall for seatbelts but it didnt affect 2000's (didnt ask about other years) which is bullshit because obviously everyones seatbelt is fudged up... Stupid ford.

I used to have a jeep that i left the top off of all summer even during the rain and the seatbelt was fine. And it was a 16 year old seatbelt. I find it hard to believe that 5 people on this forum just happen to have worn out seatbelts when there was a recall on previous years for the same issues we're having.

this seatbelt issue is VERY common with our cars, mine does it too. it will still work fine in an accident, it just doesnt retract like it should. i think theres a way to fix it because i remember someone posting a "how to" on it.

My friend left the seatbelt and the buckle hanging out the door of my car last night and I didn't notice until I got on the freeway... and heard the buckle slapping on the pavement and my door :mad

I came and got just what I was looking for, thank goodness.
