What's your clutch, cable,FWA, and quad setup?

Just starting a thread to see what everyones cable, clutch, FWA, and quadrant setup was. What do you like and dislike about your setup? pros, cons? any recommendations or products to stay away from??

Just get in here and discuss?? There are lots of questions about clutch, FWA, quad, and cable setups. So I hope we can start a thread all in one, and help people out. Including myself

I'll go first.. I am ordering my 03/04 Termi FRPP clutch tomorrow, and I went with the OEM stock cable (Of course!) and my current OEM ford cable on my car is just now ready to be replaced with 69k miles on it. I am currently stuck on what quad and FWA to get. Any certain quads that dont work well with the OEM non adj. cable??

Thanks guys! let's get things started in here!

I had an aftermarket quadrant, firewall adjuster, and adjustable cable on my 2000 gt (forgot the brand) and it was nothing but problems. The cable split open where the cable meets the firewall adjuster, making the cable move at the firewall instead of at the clutch. Had this happen to me twice. Both times the cables were routed correctly and were working smoothly out of the car, this was with a STOCK clutch. Even when it was working right,it never really made the clutch feel any better,or release any quicker. Maybe i just got two bad cables, but i dont plan on running aftermarket clutch components on my '01.

UPR Triple Hook on the center hook, UPR Firewall adjuster, stock cable (recommend keeping the stock cable). I also have the LDC Chicago Freeplay kit, since all the instructions on making your own are wrong for my car, I bought the $20 kit. I also have the Jeg's clutch pedal height adjuster.

Clutch is a SPEC Stage 2

No complaints now, but without the pedal height adjuster, there was too much dead area in the clutch pedal.

Get a Fiore or Maximum Motorsports firewall adjuster and quadrant. I still have a stock clutch with 52,000 miles on it, stock cable, Fiore quadrant and adjuster. Will probably go with a Centerforce clutch when it's time to replace. What is the 03/04 Cobra clutch rated to?

I run a Steeda fwa, quad, and cable with a spec stage 3 clutch and billitt steel flywheel. Only compliant I have is the clutch disc is a puck style design so it chatters a lil bit sometimes, but not so bad once you get it down. But If I was to do it over, I'd go with a full surface disc.

MM firewall adjuster and quadrant. I also got the OEM clutch cable from MM so it was already modified for their adjuster. Still running the stock clutch but will get a spec stage 2 when it goes.

FYI: Part of that article is incorrect for some transmissions, at least mine and 1 other I've verified.

The make your own LDC Chicago Freeplay kit part. The #173 spring is a 3" long spring, and even with the spacer, it doesn't come close to making contact between the spacer and the clutch fork. I would need a 4" long spring to do anything, which coincidentally is what the LDC kit comes with.

What transmission do you have? A TR-3650? I was planning on going to ACE sometime this week to buy the spring and spacer to make my own clutch freeplay kit. I have a T-45, would the 3'' long spring and spacer work on mine?

That's weird, the #173 at my Ace is a 4.25" long spring, I didn't even need much of a spacer. Maybe the model numbers are different at different stores...
