Finally fixing my traction issues

I had some spare cash and ordered myself upper and lower control arms for my rear end so I wouldn't be spending all day spinning, especially since my gears go in next month .

I'm going to be running the J&M's.. anyone using them? I think the arms will be enough to control the power i'm going to be putting down, because i'm only lightly modded

a lightly modded stang will hook without slicks. THEY are not completely necessary. and mine is a DD in FLORIDA. It rains. A lot. DD+Fl+Slicks= wreck.

I too want to hook on street tires. My 3.73's have made my first gear useless even with my Nitto 555's. Sometimes I can hook but I cannot shift hard into 2nd which is actually hurting me on bottom end. Let us know how it works for you.

Read my post. I don't hook right now. I'm changing control arms so that I will hook. I can't put slicks on a daily driver in Miami. For one, the weather is too crazy. for two, I'm not going to spend an arm and a leg on replacing slicks all the time

Will do. It's relatively cheap to pick up the LCA's and UCA's, got both for under 300. I'll install them this weekend (if they're here in time) or the next and let ya know.

Nitto NT555Rs are a good compromise tire. They will hook pretty well on the street but still handle OK in the rain. They won't last a long time though like a true street tire...

As of right now I'm not too worried about my tires. Right now I'm doing a little work on my suspension because as we all know, favtory suspension majorly sucks

Link to UCA's, if you please

Is this a DD ride or 100% 1/4 mile only?

Please answer my above post PRIOR to installing these arms. The VAST majority of UCA's are the worste thing in the world for a DD.

Jazzer, these are the UCA's

J&M Mustang Rear Upper Control Arms (79-04) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

As of right now the car is a daily driver, driven/raced for fun out on the streets. But my plans are to make it a weekend warrior at the track (nothing crazy, just some 1/4 runs for fun) while keeping it as my daily driver. So i'm slowly beefing it up.

Sorry to say this, but those are indeed the worst thing one can run on a DD ride

Below is a pic from a set tbird had on his ride prior to removing them:

These are HORRIBLE for a DD and would NEVER run them under any conditions on the street. Please call and cancel the order and get a refund. I figure the LCA's are also a solid/solid bushing and not a fan of them either, but not NEARLY as detrimental to the suspension operation.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news

I would rather tell you know, than you learn later that they are a bad part to install

Jazzer, stopping bad installs... one mod at a time
