highest flowing quiet exhaust.

people in my neighborhood are complaining about how loud my car is when i start it. when i drive the car slow it is real quiet and no one complains about it then just when i start the car. i work nights so im not sure why they would complain since i leave at 2 pm. i think they are being a bunch of baby's about it. my car has high flow cats on it and a moroso spiral flow cat back. with out cats the exhaust was real loud and i dont intend on taking the cats off but im tired of how many people keep coming to my house to bitch about the noise when i start it. we dont have home owners association where i live so im not sure what they can do about it but one guy is putting out threats saying he is going to take me to court over this.

Considering you go to work at 2pm and it's only when you start it up that it's loud. I think said people will never be happy since they are apparently home at 2pm with nothing better to do than complain about a whole 15sec of their day.

I've got flowmasters on mine... I believe they're 40 series but i'm not 100% sure as the previous owner had them installed. Its still got a great tone but its definitely not annoyingly loud.

Thought you sold the GT? are talking about the cobra?

I have magnaflows with a o/r h that I welded in a couple of cats and it is what I would consider acceptable

Just buy a harley and really give them something to bitch about

the people where i live are a pain in my ass. everything offends them. they honestly want me to walk on egg shells everywhere i go. i took my car to the police station and had it checked and they said it was street legal. i looked up the noise reg and it says quiet hours are from 10pm to 7am. i dont think they are complaining when i get off work since my roomates tell me they cant hear my car when i pull up. i have about had it with some of the people here.

i did sell my gt, that car was real loud so i understand why they did not like it, but i have been keeping the cobra quiet.

the whole harley thing is a pain as well. i have plenty of noisy vehicles at my house that i have not started because of all this crap going on. it sucks to own cool stuff and never get to use it.

as long as you are legal, I would let the bitching go in one ear out the other. These people are not going to be happy no matter what. enjoy your toy's.

I understand trying to get along with neighbors, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do

You might try Magnaflows. They were marginally quieter than the Flowmaster 40s that I had without the drone. No one around me complains about the sound but most of them have loud cars too.

I do get some looks when I start my Harley though.

Are you in Fort Walton Beach? Shalimar? I lived in Shalimar over by Piquito Bayou for a year before moving into base housing. It was a quiet place full of retirees.

I have to say I got a good laugh after reading this thread and then hearing your neighborhood is called -- Niceville

I say if the police say it's legal, then tell you neighbors if they are willing to pay for it, you'll swap in a quieter exhaust.

you could go to a 50 series... 3 chambers insted of 2...

Or you could leave your tested street legal car alone and not give in haha.

Sounds like you need a sub-woofer..

Is the car pointed at the girl's house?

Park the car and start riding the bikes for a week, then see what they think of the cobra

as long as its legal in the state you in, passes emissions, and doesnt exceed any noise ordinances in your area (which i doubt if you have mufflers and cats) theres nothing they can do and i would tell them to eff off

when do you come home?

This guy in my complex has this POS camaro w/ straight pipes and he leaves for work at 4:30 am like 3 times a week. He wakes me up EVERY time he starts it and it really does piss me off. Especially when I have class at 8 a.m.

THen again, my car isnt quiet either... but I mean, I dont wake people up in their sleep either.

As far as the HP test goes for that list.... you do realise that if you take any one of those exhausts and re-dyno them there will be at LEAST a +/- 1-2 rwhp difference on each run right? And furthermore, comparing them to one decimal place is mis-leading. There is no accurate way to compare all those exhausts because of the varying test conditions that they really have no control over. (This test was not done in a Intel clean room with climate control)

The Borlas are nice and quiet until you open it up though, I have them on my car, and they're a joy to drive on the highway with as well compared to the Flowmaster 10 series I had on there.
