04 Mach throttle dead spots?
Well ive got my mach now...its bone stock....but its got what feels to be a dead spot right as you touch the gas...doesnt sputter or anything...just seems like you hit the gas and it takes a second for it to start to rev....does it under load and at idle....MAF dirty maybe? TPS?
and also it feels like it has a couple spots where it doesnt pull as hard between 2-5k....but i only notice it if i dont get on it till 2nd or 3rd...its like i'll punch it in second and it'll pull hard till about 2500, then kindda lessen a little then pull harder from about 3500 on....im sure its not a big deal, but just somethin ive been kindda noticing....any ideas? thanks, James

Sorry bro, I've never had any issues with mine like that....
Maybe a really thorough tune up, include cleaning the MAF and IAC?

I would just do a throttle body cleaning and tune up.
Also you have to remember that a Mach 1 is a DOHC. They were built to pull harder in higher RPM's. With a couple of upgrades for low end tourqe, you will never notice it again. I suggest you do an X-pipe, cat-back, underdrive pulley's, cold air intake, Dyno Tune, and a short throw shifter. It comes stock with 3:55 gears so it's really up to you with that. I love my stock gears.... |

the car's got 42k miles...but they're all highway from what ive been told.....yea, i guess i'll go through and put a set of plugs in it and clean the MAF....CAI should be on the way...
and yea, the DOHCs definately love RPMs....but its still has a dead spot sometimes...and it doesnt do it all the time so im sure its nothing serious...just needs some maintainence....what plugs should i put in it? and what should i use to clean the MAF? thanks for the help.... James
