2003 GT Drivetrain Mods for Blower?

Hey guys I'm looking at picking up a built short block to replace my dead 4.6 03' Romeo. The idea is to get it at low compression and boost it on the stock heads/cams (with aftermarket intake/exhaust) and upgrade as money permits.

My main question is then going to be on the durability of my stock t36 tranny at 500+ HP range.

What mods should I make to my drivetrain to ensure longevity?

I'm already going with a beefier clutch/flywheel set-up, and am thinking/have been told that a beefier input shaft would be a good idea as well.
Is there anything else I should do that I'm missing? What's really necessary?

Thanks much guys, any input is greatly appreciated as always!

-Matt

I don't know how to beef up the stock tranny, but you could get this as one of your upgrades:
D&D Performance - BA71/72 T-56 Magnum Kit 99-04 Mustang
Kit comes with everything you'd need and it should be good long past 500lb/ft. Expensive, but worth it, I think, for a high powered car.

Dont go to low of compression, lower compression is over rated. 90% of people with a blower/turbo and a new motor have like 9.4:1 compression. Go with -17cc or -18cc pistons. Most people will tell you to get the pistons notched for more clearence too. And allow you to put some bigger cams (for when you do them)

Also, for the 3650, a 26 spline input shaft would always be good. But honestly, its not needed unless your running sticky tires.

Dont powershift, If you really want to save it save the powershifts for the track, or dont even do them. You can always get a beefy T3650 from Promotion Powertrains. They have built T3650's, T45's, T56's etc......

Hope that helps
