New cams, New problems

Just installed trick flow stage one cams, sounds good, runs well, but now I have OBD p1131 and p1151 codes coming up... Everything is good, no leaks, O2's still good, maybe need bigger injestors. I have 24lbs with bbk MAS cal. 24lbs. and long tubes with MIL's pluged to o2 sensors any thoughts? I think It may be something with my TB adjuster screw

ok, I was planning on having it dyno tuned, all ready have a tune for everything but the cams... My tuner guy told me It was 50/50 on if I needed to get it retuned... but I must say that I don't scare easy, but this car is insane now... It has like 3.23 gears, great for highway, never could really bust the backend loose from a dead stop, but now it peels out from 1st to half way through 2nd and its an auto

anytime you do a cam swap you need a dyno tune. the specs of a stock cam and a stage 1 are pretty different. so that makes ur air to fuel ratio off, which requires more than a canned tune loaded from a hand held tuner.. your injectors are fine tho, no need for new ones with a stage 1 cam

pretty sure the codes u mentioned are lean codes. ive pulled the p1151 a couple times on my car. a dyno tune will fix that right up. the p1131 has to do with the MAF, again probably reading lean.

For stage 1 cams you don't need a dyno tune, a e-mail tune will work great. A dyno tune can cost $700+ because you have to buy the handheld also. since you have to buy a handheld anyway, buy one with an e-mail tune(like from the tuner in my sig.) and when you get spray then take to dyno and should only cost $300 or so

No... I maybe a newbie to this forum, but I’m not when it comes to mechanics... I know the best bet to eliminate this problem is with a custom tune. Already have one for my setup without cams on my diablo sport handheld... It's obvious that with simple bolt on applications a custom E-mailed tune will work wonders, but when you start adding power adders such as forced induction (Nitrous included because it is a form of forced induction), and cams, the characteristics of the engine is changed dramatically... That said, the reason I posted this thread was to get insight on the trouble codes... everything is in working order with no leaks, it just runs lean on two different banks P1131 and P1151 which are codes reading from the left and right front o2 sensors, the real question at hand (which I should have been more direct), is, do I need bigger fuel injectors, or just a good tune? Right now I have 24LBS with a MAS to match, which should be more than enough. Just really looking to see if anyone else had the same problem with a stage one cam setup.

yes they do, but the question is, automatic tranny or stick? if stock AOD and converter, stage 1 is pushing it, otherwise you will need a higher stall... stick? your good to go, might need a better clutch but she'll run

you DO NOT NEED bigger injectors. maybe ur o2s are bad man just replace em. a failing sensor fails to relay info to the ecu which would make it run lean or rich whatever. so it maybe just be that your sensors are bad man

really I think with the lift and duration of the cam, It makes my RPM's jump about 50-100 at idle so the computer is trying to over correct this problem back and forth making everything go to the lean side... just a thought, cause the stock cams are suppose to run smoother than what it is.. I'll tune it first and see whats up, cause the o2s are good, I know for a fact

I'll just change them out to be on the safe side, after all they are fairly cheap... now that I think about it, it runs strong and rich at idle, but i just replaced the o2s a week ago.

well, I am forced induction with stage 3 cams and e-mailed tune (not canned!)and it runs great and makes awsum power, so take it for what it's worth.

Running a stage 1 cam is not that big of deal where you need bigger injectors or maf(not mas). most people I know have gotten away with not even a retune with stage 1's(comp 262's)

who installed the cams and are they degree'd properly? usually LT's and o2 placement would be more of the issue
