Door lock motors

Whenever I try to lock or unlock my doors(driver or passenger), whether using the lock button on the inside of the car or my remote sometimes it will unlock/lock and sometimes it won't do anything at all. And sometimes it will eventually unlock/lock if i hit the button enough times. I think the motors are going bad or something since it will do this even when I'm using the lock/unlock on the inside of the car, but not sure...

Any help is much appreciated, it's kind of pissing me off now.

From what I looked up in the Workshop Manual it looks like you may have to take it to a dealer and have your system scanned with their tester, which hooks up to your DLC. Two possible codes they may come up are B1396 and B1397 which translates "Power door lock circuit short to battery" None of the pinpoint tests in the book were specific to your problem and all of them require the scanner. Wish i could have helped more.

easy to replace also. these are common to go out on mustangs from my experience all the way back to the fox bodies. Must be a ford thing.

When it is very cold out my car opens the trunk and unlocks the door when I press the unlock button.
