gear help

I'm going to have some gears installed on the car soon. I already have the
install and bearing kit, but I was wondering if I'm going to need this too.

thats for you differential and no you dont need it to do a gear swap. You just need the gears and bearing kit.

Thanks. I found some info however that while getting a gear install you might as well get that replaced along with bearings? Does it help?

as long as you have it out, it wouldnt hurt to replace the discs while your in there. Better now then 10k miles down the road and you have to pull it back apart to put new discs in because your doing 1 wheel peels

agree with F8L, better to spend the extra money now than spend more time doing it again and still spending money.

Do you think he will wear out those stock disc with a almost stock power level and suspension mods, and gears? If he planned on adding power to it doown the road then yeah he should dish out the $124 and do it but do you honestly think he will wear out the disc thats in his diff right now with a next to stock platform??

The stock clutches will eventually wear out, mine were shot at 80,000 miles with stock power. Than i put in a detroit tru-trac and called it a day.

Its just like a clutch in a manual. they wear out. Everytime you turn a corner those clutches are slipping against each other and they will eventually wear out
