Need Help/Advice on DDM Tuning HID Kit
I'm going to be placing an order for their HID kits today and wanted to get some quick questions answered before I do. I'm looking at purchasing the Raptor 55w 9007 hi/lo kit, along with the 35w foglight kit.
Questions:
If there is anything else those of you whom done this install would like to share, please let me know. I read somewhere that the 35w foglight bulbs were the best ones, given the 55w get too hot for the small enclosures. Is this correct? Thanks for all your help in advance! |

1 i wold suggest 5000K or 6000K. 6K was just a bit to blue for me, yet others say 6K is pure white...
2. no. 3. no. 4. for your Ballasts.... kinda... they come with double sided tape. I used that and 4 large zipties going two each way looking like a tic tac toe board... 5. no. The DDM kits come with EVERYthing you need to get up and running so you can blind people quickly with the brighter light in reflector housings...

2. No harness. 3. No code eliminators. 4. Brackets, I didnt get em. You dont need em, mine are just tucked away. Wouldnt be a bad idea though. 5. No. I've also heard that 55w gets to hot for our fogs...not sure though. You'll love the lights. Just make sure you get the 9007 hi/lo. idk why, but I didnt get the hi/lo lol. Goodluck man

The higher wattage ballast will make the lights seem slightly whiter. Either 5000K or 6000K bulbs with the 55W ballasts will be white with a hint of blue in the headlights. I'd recommend 5000K in the fogs with 35W ballasts.
I'd strongly recommend relay harnesses for both the headlights and fogs, but they're not required. You won't need error eliminators or adapter cables. Just the DDM kits, relay harnesses, splice taps or disconnects, ring terminals for the grounds, and a wire stripper/crimper.

Also, the DDM Tuning high/low kit is kinda useless on our cars since we don't have projectors. But having buttons on my car that don't work bothers me, and the high/low kit comes with a relay harness, so that's the route I took.

It's a wiring harness that allows the ballasts to draw power directly from the battery rather than the factory wiring. The stock wiring has a pretty rough time supplying enough current to allow the ballasts to initially create the electric arc in the HID bulbs. Typically it's not too much of an issue at first, but eventually your ballasts or bulbs are likely to start blinking, fail to reach maximum brightness, or fail altogether. This is more of an issue with 55 watt ballasts and fog light HIDs than typical 35W headlight HIDs.

Thanks for all the reply's.
I think I'm armed with the appropriate information to order now. Those of you with the fogs, do you have the stock housings or the clear aftermarket ones? Debating on if I should buy the chrome aftermarket ones from AM that match the chrome headlights I just got off another member here. However if you guys with them are using the stock housings and they are fine, I may just keep them and save the $80. I just thought the clearer ones would be better/brighter given I the stock housing you can barely see through. Let me know. Thanks |

I just put mine in yesterday!!! You need nothing extra! I got the 6000k 55w headlights and 6000k 35w fog lights. They look great. Diamond white is very white with a very slight hint of blue, 8000k you can definitely tell the blue but 6000k is brighter and less likely to be pulled over for. You [I]can[I] get the mounting bracket if you want but they come with double-sided tape. I put the driver side one between the fenderwell and the battery (very tight) (must take battery out anyway or you will not have fun doing the driver side at all) and I still need to figure out a better way or a better spot to mount the passenger side, I just have it zip tied down right now. The fog light ones fit perfect but very tight in between the metal bars behind the front bumper (you'll see when you get down there) and I just added a little silicone to help them stay, but they're in there real good. Heres some pics but theyre really bad, I know, it was on my pos phone haha. I am very very happy with them though, they look SWEET!!! The only bad thing I have to say.... It took me about 20 minutes to figure it out, I was about to give up. The harness that plugs into the ballast is like the lightbulbs with a clip on one side... The ballast has notches on both sides of the plug though, so needless to say, I had BOTH harnesses plugged into the ballasts wrong and they would not go on! haha. After about 20minutes of thinking and rechecking everything, I finally figured it out and it looks awesome. Good luck and I hope that helped ![]() ![]() ![]() P.S. something is wrong with the passenger side fog lens, the stock halogens and hids look so much dimmer through that lens. When they're off. it even looks almost smoked. So if anyone has a stock passenger fog light let me know! Thanks!

The stock housings are designed to aim the lights below the fog, aftermarket clear housings are not. This means that stock housings are more functional in fog, aftermarket housings are brighter in normal use. With that being said, I am running clear fogs for aesthetic purposes and they do look great
