I am looking for the best Mustang Dyno Tuner there is in any of these states. I thought that maybe since we are all over the place in the board we can make a sticky of the best in each state or maybe best 2 in each state and how much it cost to get a tune from that place....

Just to add in, the "best" is highly contested, especially in the SouthEast, and you can find tuners in your area by going to the SCT website, popping in your zip code and choosing a radius.

probubly true that saying best is stretching it, the reason I recomend Big Shot is that you cant go to a track in ohio without seeing a Big Shot tuned stick car running very serious numbers for the mods done.

since the o/p is a stick car, makes sence to me.

Yeah, I know what you're saying.

Asking who the best tuner is in this area can start a damn fist fight.... There's a lot of loyalties to tuners, it seems. I had great experiences with 2 tuners here, and a pretty crappy one with another. But that one that I had bad experiences with has a huge following in the area, mainly I believe because he inflates his numbers.

Every time I've said that I didn't like him, people's panties get all up in a bunch. My tuner is one of those guys that you either love or hate as well, I guess. I was impressed with him, and he allowed me to be involved, and to observe the entire process, as well as learn a few things as he was going through it. Something none of the others who had tuned my car in the past had done.

So, to me, tuners are a very polarized subject. You really just have to find someone that you feel comfortable with and trust. Reputation has a lot to do with that, but some people you just can't mesh with, and I'd rather have that face to face time with the guy that I'm handing my car to.

Does it have to be a Mustang Dyno or can he use a Dynojet?

Exotic Performance Plus up by Fort Wayne, Indiana has a Mustang Dyno. They are one of the largest ProCharger installers, but they primarily work on Chevys. They installed my ProCharger. They only tune using SCT software. I didn't get a really good tune though because I pegged the MAF.

I like Automotive Specialists in Noblesville, Indiana. They specialize in Mustangs but have a Dynojet. They have both SCT and Diablosport software. But there are some that don't like them.

I have met people who swear there are only 4 good tuners in the entire country.

There may be other tuners, I don't know of any others in Indiana.

How about IL?

Tim Barth at Mr. Norm's Garage in Machesney Park, IL. First tune is $450-$500 depending if you're N/A or boosted.

As Chris posted in IN Charles does good work. I use speedy dyno in Owensboro myself and highly recommend them.

Is there really any gain with getting a N/A dyno tune vs the SCT handheld?

If you have a run ofhe mil bolt on car N/A it probably would net some over just using the hand held, but if you you have heads cams and bumped compression there is more to be had with a real dyno tune over a hand held.

I got a dyno tune after I did longtubes. Car needed it bad. Before the longtubes I ran a canned tune on the SCT Xcal from Tim at MPH. On the canned tune with the addition of longtubes the car put down 249/289 STD. After the dyno tune it made 271/303 STD. For N/A with bolt ons you'd be fine with an emailed tune. I just wanted to do it the right way and have the piece of mind that everything is running right and safe.

ChrisJ, how can you be banned and still post. I'm an old man, and I'm getting really tired of these games.

I'm interested in getting my car tune by him. Is this a real post or not?

P.S. I really hate all the B.S. that is going on lately. Even the moderators are playing games.

From Indiana:
Mustang Performance Parts & Upgrades by Brenspeed

They seem to cater to S197's more, but they can still tune regardless.
