4.6L Stroker

Hi, I'm looking to stroke my 4.6 to a 302, would it be a good idea to also bore the motor to a 302 also? Havent had ANY experience with stroker kits and have looked online the past three days for one but can't find any i can trust. Was wondering if i could get a little help here? Planning on putting cams, Patriot heads, and SLP Longtubes with an O/R X and SLP LM1's.

Stroker kits are a waste in my opinion. If you are going to do some engine work get it ready for forced induction and some boost.

It all depends on what you want out of the motor. The easiest way to make power on these motors is to put a blower on it. I have a stroker kit on mine but I have a lot more than just the added stroke too. You will see some hp gains but mostly more torque.

do a big bore kit, either the FRPP block or sleeve your current block and punch it out from the 3.55 bore to 3.7 bore. Helps unshroud the valves, which is a gigantic help on these heads.

With stroker kits, the kits themselves wont make any power over a stock kit, its what you do with them that will determine it. The biggest gain is the under the curve power, not peak
