Udps and a pp plenum

K I have a 2000 gt with mods listed in sig. I just bought some underdrive pulleys and a proffesional products plenum. Wadaya guys figure I am gonna gain outta this. Maybe 10 hp or so. I paid 160 total for the parts and just wondering if they are worth it. The plenum is pretty but I like the horse better however I have heard that the plenum is the biggest restriction on the 4.6. And what is the REAL gain of udps not the advertised gain. I noticed a pretty big difference in throttle responce when the accufab went on,revved up quicker. Anyways thanks in advance for input. And how hard is install on the pulleys. Thanks

Youll notice a little more throttle response more than anything, in reality a couple hp is about all youll see out of each. As for the pulleys, install is really simple, but if theyre the piggy back style your best bet is to sell them and get a set that comes with sfi approved crank pulley.

They aren't piggyback type. I am just wondering if I need a pulley puller or are they a simple bolt on. Thanks. I didn't figure I was gonna get much. The tb really helped my throttle response so if the plenum give me the same gain as tb I am happy. And if I leave the water pump pulley stock is it even worth doing. I really would rather leave it alone due to my driving habits and lots of stop and go driving

Youll need a puller. Bolt type not jaw type. Theyre cheap or you can rent them at a parts store. Plenum should give you a bit more response than the tb did being that the plenum is more restrictive than the tb, plus you now have them both combined.

You shouldnt see any problems changing the water pump pulley. Most of the issues come from the alternator pulley not allowing the alternator to spin fast enough to charge well enough more so than the water pump not flowing enough water.

Some advice on installing the crank pulley, rent a puller and the harmonic balancer install tool. Don't use the longer bolt to try and screw the pulley onto your crank. There's a good chance of you stripping the threads out in your crank doing it that way.

The only way you'll strip the threads is if you try to tighten the longer bolt too much. It's just to pull the balancer onto the crank snout far enough to get the factory bolt in it. Then you torque down the factory bolt.
