transmission swap, need help/advice


there's a similar thread so sorry. i talked to alan today at dirtydog about my transmission issues and he informed me the early model new edge stangs running the 4r70w auto tranny have manny issues when running boost. he said i'd need to swap it out. he recommended one from an 08 5.4l 2wd truck. i have no knowledge of this tranny. i had contemplated a mach 1 auto swap or going manual seemed the easiest of the two routes. any knowledge and advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks guys.

can't say as I have ever heard that about 4r70w's, but then again, I'm pretty focused on N/A, so I could have missed it.

I certainly wouldn't put a manual in the car under any circumstances.

A mach1 4r75w is a nice tranny also.

you will be fixing your t45 or t3650 much as much or more. The 4R is a great tranny.

how much if anyone knows scott or casper is a rebuild to handle the power and problems im having. i had already purchased cams and a 10 psi supercharger pulley to bump her over 400whp & 400tq

i get on it usually in 3rd gear and at full throttle when it hits 70mph and goes to shift it doesn't catch 4th and hesitates a moment then revs to redline without ever going into gear.

yeah i finally figured out why my numbers are a lot lower besides it being an auto. my initial timing is 8.5 degrees and peaks to 11 before sloping back off to 8.5 at redline so that it's safe as can be.

yeah im running 93 24/7. i ordered the new pulley to go up to 10 psi that was tuners advice on safest power adder left. the cams should help it too but i have got to straighten out this tranny situation. i drive 250 miles weekly to school and work and cant have this mess going on.

right i mean daily driving is fine and nothings wrong but i cant ever get on it which sucks since i got boosted havent once been able to run through the gears like i hoped. i have never been to the track but i want to go once this is fixed and get the lower control arms put on.
