99 Mustang GT Cluster HELP!!!

Ok so i have the stock cluster in there now. I got some overlays installed but they looked like crap, and when i pulled them off the needle for the speedo came off. I said screw it and ended up buying another cluster (white face) off ebay. They are used and when i installed them it didnt work (because of the VIN im guessing). The guys mileage still shows up and i know i need a "mechanical calibration" or an "unlock". Anybody know if thats right or no? Ford said they wanted 150 bucks for what they think i was asking for

Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

Justin

No worries Im here to help I just bought one last week off of ebay got it and had the same problem and I just take the circuit board off the old and put it on the new one!
Step 1. remove the cluster from the car!
step 2. take the screws out of the back of the old cluster remove the hard white plastic peice on the back of the cluster!
Step 3. Carefully pull up the green circuit board up!

Than do the same to the new cluster and put the old circuit board on the new one screw it back together and plug it in!

This is off of a 2003GT I have a 99GT the computer's are different so you have to switch the circuit board on the back!

Mine plus shipping for 1 set of 4 - 18''cobra rims were just a shade over 400 dollars!

where? the thing is the stock tires i have now (the kuhmos) wont fit 17 or 18 inch cobras, and thats why i cant just buy rims, they would sit without tires lol

it would complete the look on my car though, its that 99 mustang blue with black halo headlights, black tint and tail lights, black rims would look sweet

Its the PATS...You have to have it reset for a new cicuit board...Unless you use the old board off the old one...And then you need to find a way to fix the needle on it...

Cool then just switch the boards and you will be fine...

A guy off this forum is running around with my factory gauges with white face...They worked fine for him...
