battery suggestions - optima?

I think my Optima yellowtop is starting to go bad after many years of abuse. My question is should I get another one or another brand? I know there are other brands like Odessey and Kinetik so if anyone has experience with those let me know. I have a couple of amps and a subwoofer so that's why I don't just want a regular Autozone battery. My system is probably around 1000 watts RMS total. The optima I have right now is the D34/78 for SUVs and it was like $220 so not cheap.

I would get the red one but optima recommends the yellow top for sound systems.

Costo optima's $150 however I run their cheap $55 interstate brand with 1700 watt system cause they have the best battery warnanty ever! 30 months no questions asked and the 30 months renews everytime you get a replacment. Because they go by preduction date sticker on the battery not the receipt. Not like autozon where they prorate after 24 months.

Just for furture information...
Optima Yellow top batteries are good for a sound system if you like to listen to your stereo with the car off. Red tops are better if you listen while running. If you are experiencing dimming lights, you need to upgrade your alternator. Also, do not use caps, they are more of a hinderance then a help.

The instructions that came with the battery said that if you are running 250 watts or more above the stock system you should use a yellow top.

dont get a optima unless your 100% sure your keepin your car forever. Either battery will last 4-7 years and spending that extra 40 bucks will not increase the value so you'll be just giving the next smuck who buys your car a nice battery.

I've been installing borh professionally and as a hobbiest/enthusiast for 15 years. I have built systems tthat have won SQ and SPL competitions, as well as a couple that have been featured in magazines. Kinetic and XS both make great batteries, as does Optima. The few guys that are still using Optimas for the power base of sound systems use them as I stated... Reds under the hood for starting and listening with car running, Yellows for use while car is not running. Reason being, Yellow tops are capable of being fully discharged and recharged repeatedly, Red tops are not. I am running one Red top, a 280 amp Mechman alternator, 2300 watts.

Diehard platinum is what I run. The thing could start the titanic......4 year free replacement, and I think 100 month pro-rated. Mine has over 800 CCA and a 90 minute Reserve Cap

Sorry but your misinformed. Optima batteries are memory batteries, everytime they are fully drained they only get back 80% of it's previous charge. (80% of 100, then 80% of 80, 80% of 60 etc) one bad thing about optimas. Good thing about them is they are track legal because they can't leak or explode. I have a 3000 RMS Memphis system in my car and my yellowtop is great for it.

You know the yellow tops are deep cycle batteries right?

Do you understand the term deep cycle? Google it. Any memory battery will always gain back only 80% or so of it's previous charge.
