Clicking noise 01 cobra

Almost stock. The aluminum driveshaft that I have is the only thing that I haven't removed to see if it is the noise culprit. I get almost a binding noise from the rear of the car that sounds mechanical. I am trying to find a stock driveshaft to swap for a test to see if maybe my aluminum one is bad, or at least the u joints. The shops I have taken it to cannot find the problem. They hear it but no one can find it. The shop that installed the shaft said they tightened every bolt under the car but we still can't find where the noise is coming from. I may remove the cat-back(stock) and see if that is the boner. Anyone had a similar experience? Help!

Hey man,

Only thing i have run into is: Some 1999-2003 Mustang Cobra vehicles may exhibit a "popping" type noise while turning into or out of an incline, such as turning into a driveway, at low speeds (below 15 mph (25 km/h). The steeper the incline the more noticeable the noise will be. This may be caused by the lateral movement of the stabilizer bar or one or more of the fasteners shown in Figures 1-3, that may not be tightened within the required torque specifications.

If you dont think that sounds like it, have you removed youre driveshaft yet to see if one of youre u-joints is binding up ? thats what i would do first. After that... i would put it on the lift and stand under while someone else drives the car so i can get a good idea where its comming from.

crap

I think my right rear poly bushing is in the wrong position. I am going to try to get a spring compressor and fix it. Somehow I don't think this is the complete answer. Swell.
